🧅 One of the coolest things in the garden right now…

This onion got overlooked last year and stayed in the garden. Instead of putting its energy into growing a bigger bulb this year, it sent up this giant flower stalk that’s almost as tall as me!

That flower is actually how onions make seeds. Once it dries, I can collect the seeds and grow even more onions from it. 🌱

Most people only ever see the onion bulb, but this is what happens when an onion completes its full life cycle. Pretty neat, right?

One of my favorite parts of gardening is getting to see things most people never do. 💚

💚 Today’s local finds…

The boys spotted the candied fruit from Sallys Sweets and immediately knew we were ordering. 😂🍇🍍

We grabbed the sampler with blue raspberry and strawberry-coated grapes and pineapple, some rolled in Nerds, and it was an instant hit. Judging by these faces, I’d say it got two enthusiastic kid approvals. 😋

Meanwhile, I finally got my hands on a 3-pack of white chocolate macadamia cookies from The Vine + Branch Farmstand Co.
🍪🤍 I’ve been thinking about these ever since I saw her roasting macadamia nuts earlier this week, and they were every bit as good as I hoped.

One of my favorite things about living in a community like ours is finding all these little hidden gems—farm stands, porch pickups, and talented local makers creating really cool things right here in town. 💛

Definitely a sweet way to spend a Saturday afternoon. 🫶🏻
