Craig & Angie's Backyard Bees

Craig & Angie's Backyard Bees We're beekeeping hobbiest with a few hives in our backyard. Buy local, raw honey ! Raw Honey is straight from the hive as nature intended.

Unlike highly processed store bought honey, raw honey is unfiltered, unheated, unpasteurized, and unprocessed. It is only lightly strained to remove bits of wax in the honey from the extraction process, so It contains all of the natural vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients, and other nutritional elements. Mainly bee pollen and bee propolis. Both of which have many health benefits. Best off all, It's DELICIOUS !

Coming to the sugar shed - dark honey ! Every year varies with how dark the fall harvest is depending on what’s in bloom and how much wasn’t capped the with first harvest. Some years is almost black, whereas this year is much lighter. it’s still yummy !! 😋

What’s the difference?
Lighter honey comes from clover and any flower/weed in bloom in the spring & early summer.
Dark honey we found comes mostly from Japanese knotweed and goldenrod along with other plants blooming.

As far a taste - they both have that typical honey flavor and you would never know the difference trying each one alone. When you side by side compare , now that’s the real test. Light honey has more of a lemon flavor and then dark honey is a little more robust with a molasses flavor.

Thanks for all your support !
