Got the box truck back just in time to get hay today! She’s been in the shop for a week or two. We missed Foxy Boxy.
Phoebe one of our ratters love to inspect it and hang out when not working on hunting rats and other rodents on the farm.

I’ve been spending a lot of time researching tools to make life easier here on the farm. Mainly tools regarding market gardeners and cover crops along with fencing. Wednesday night after doing some reading, I role over to go to sleep and I get a sharp pain near my kidney. Within half an hour I’m in the truck yelling at Michael to drive me to the ER.
11pm we arrive at the ER and am told within 2 hours it’s a kidney stone. 1 CT scan and 9 hours later I’m finally leaving the hospital. Thursday I slept all day. Friday I’m rushing one of our black cats to her doctors because she’s peeing blood. H***y Purrbox (Hussers) has a UTI and my kidney is still wrestling with a stone.
Never a dull moment. After livestock has been fed I think Hussers and I will go crawl back into bed.

We got a really nice shoutout from University of Rochester for our plants yesterday! We will be here one last day today with what houseplants we have left! 10-5 or until sold out!

I don’t care what state you live in. Now is the time to go find a few local farmers and start supporting them. Buy their lettuce mixes, herbs, meat, vegetables, eggs, milk, maple syrup, honey and everything else.
There is absolutely no reason anyone should be buying honey from China, fake syrup or diarrhea contaminated anything from Mexico.
Now is the time to vote how YOU want your food grown and from where, by buying from your local producers.
It is not the local producers that are making you sick. It’s the huge corporations coming from other countries.

Today and tomorrow are our last days at the Troy Fair. Find us right in front of gate 3. You can’t miss us!
We will be slowing down just a bit for the month of August. See us back at Corning's Gaffer District farmers market and Wisner market on Wednesdays in Elmira. We will also be found at the East Avon Flea Market on Sundays. The rest of August we are catching up on farm projects and sleep.

Getting ready for a 10 day stretch of selling houseplants and prepping/packing/labeling for something like that takes days. It’s daunting. Add on still feeding and caring for livestock and getting the box truck fixed at the same time and it seems almost impossible.
Chocolate. It fixes everything. And I’m an adult. So no one can tell me that eating a slice of triple chocolate cake and chocolate moose track ice cream isn’t allowed at 11am this morning.
Everything will get done and we will be fine because of chocolate.

Our apologies to everyone looking for us at our local farmers markets this week. It was just too much on top of the events. Find us at Oswego Harborfest and Troy Fair all this week and weekend.
