It’s time for a bittersweet chapter here at The Sharp’s Family Farm. ❤️🐂

We have absolutely loved having Bodacious Dr Pepper (Bo) in our pasture. He has been a big part of our little herd, and we’re so thankful for the sweet little baby moo moos he has helped us create who will be arriving this winter. 🥹🐮🤎

But as we look toward the future of our farm and our breeding program, it’s time for Bo to find his next home. We have some chondro-positive cows that will need a smaller bull companion in the near future, so finding the right fit for our herd means making this very difficult decision.

Bo is a mid-size Highland bull who is VERY food motivated 😂, loves his treats, and absolutely loves being brushed. He isn’t what I would consider a “pet,” but he is incredibly social. He comes right up to the fence when he sees us and will even moo when we leave. 🥹

He has been such a fun part of our farm, and I truly believe he will make an incredible addition to the right herd for someone looking to add strong Highland genetics.

We want to find Bo a great home where he will be valued and appreciated, and I know there is another herd out there that could be the perfect fit for him.

What an ACTION-PACKED day! 🐮🎨🍷

A huge thank you to Wine & Design New Bern for having us yesterday for not one, but TWO amazing events! We had an absolute blast bringing Moochi along, meeting so many wonderful guests, and making some pretty special memories. ❤️

The guests were absolutely wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! And can we talk about the new owners?! They are fabulous, welcoming, and already making such a wonderful impact. We’re so excited for them and can’t wait to see all the fun things ahead! 🥰

And as if the day couldn’t get any better… they surprised us with the CUTEST painting of Moochi! 🥹🐮🎨 It is officially one of our favorite pieces of farm decor, and we will treasure it!

Thank you again, Wine & Design New Bern, for welcoming The Sharp’s Family Farm and our little Moochi into your space. We had the BEST time!

🍇 We’re learning all kinds of new things out here on the farm! 🌿

One of the best parts of having new neighbors is getting to learn from people who know the land. Our new neighbor stopped by and educated me about something we had growing right here on our property that I had NO idea was edible… wild muscadine grapes! 🍇

Of course, we had to pick a few and give them a try and y’all… SO tasty!! 😋

They were sweet, juicy, and honestly such a fun little surprise growing right here in our backyard. I love that there’s always something new to discover when you’re living on the farm. 🌱🐄

Feeling especially grateful for good neighbors who take the time to share their knowledge and teach us a thing or two! ❤️

Apparently, we’ve got wild muscadines and now I’m on a mission to find ALL of them! 😂🍇

☀️🐮 When it’s 109° heat index outside, the LAST thing you want to think about is winter… but here we are! 😂

While we’re all melting in this heat, we decided it was time to get ahead and stock up on hay for the cows! 🌾🐄 Today, 18 big bales of hay were delivered right here to the farm, and we are officially ready to start building our winter stash!

I’m already looking forward to cooler days, crisp mornings, and not sweating the second I step outside. 😂🍂 And I’m pretty sure the cows are looking forward to it just as much as I am!

Bring on the cooler weather! 🍂🐄

🐮💗 I’M GOING TO BE MOO-MA!!! 💗🐮

WE HAVE BEEN WAITING, WONDERING, HOPING… and today we FINALLY got the news we’ve been PRAYING for!

🎉 BLUEBELLE IS PREGNANT!
🎉 COLD BREW IS PREGNANT!

That’s right… TWO BABY HIGHLAND CALVES ARE COMING TO THE SHARP’S FAMILY FARM!!! 🥹🐮🍼

I honestly can’t even put into words how excited I am. These girls have had us guessing for MONTHS, and today we finally have confirmation that there are tiny little babies growing in those fluffy bellies. ❤️

And yes… I may have stared at these pregnancy tests approximately 47 times and asked for help just to make sure those lines were REALLY there. 😂

This is such a special milestone for our little farm. We started this journey wanting to build a little homestead where our family could experience the joy (and sometimes the chaos 😂) of raising animals and now we’re getting ready for our first Sharp’s Family Farm babies!

So, I guess there’s only one thing left to say…

CALL ME MOO-MA! 🐮💕😂

We cannot WAIT to watch these mamas grow, meet their babies, and share every step of the journey with you!

National Dog Day 🐶🤎

I honestly never thought I’d be celebrating National Dog Day with a dog of my own.

Clint likes animals… but preferably the kind that live OUTSIDE. 😂🐄

Then Scout came along and somehow changed all of that.

Now this spoiled little fluff ball is smart, hilarious, completely loved, and learning his very important role in our crazy farm family.

And apparently part of that role is digging himself a personal cow-side lounge chair. 😂

Our two mature heifers have been exposed to our handsome boy, Bodacious Dr Pepper, and now we’re officially ready to find out…

They’ve been exposed long enough that we should be able to get some answers, but we want to have them checked by a veterinarian who is comfortable with cattle and can confirm pregnancy AND give us an estimated gestation age if they are expecting.
