We haven’t posted much in a while, but it was a rough end to 2023 and an even rougher start to 2024 with illnesses, injuries and surgeries in our family. But, we’ve picked back up and we added a new level of security for all of our stall renters this morning. Our renters will be given an access code to a keypad on the street side of the front gate, which will open the gate and then close it behind them once they have pulled in. Now, we’ve eliminated the late night mystery launchers and folks that ride through the property at all hours of the nights “looking around”. Our property now has this gate, LED dusk to dawn outdoor lighting, and a 12 camera security system. And yes, that is what will soon be the new bait shop in the background of the video. Yes, the gate will be open for folks to drive up when the bait shop is open for business. We’re making progress, slow and steady, but we’re still bringing something nice to Vancleave for everyone to enjoy. See you guys out there!

It was a pleasure for us to be a part of the Bluff Creek Educational Scholarship Foundation for their Chili Cookoff. Investing in the community and our school aged children mean a lot to not only us, but other families in the Vancleave area as well. Congrats to the scholarship winners and we wish each of you bright futures ahead.

Community. What else can we say besides “community”. Look at this pic. A yard full of family, neighbors and friends. The most that we’ve had since buying this property. People that want to see this venture take off and flourish.
We’re beyond thankful for all of these individuals. People that look out for ours as we look out for theirs. We don’t even have to tag all of them in this post because they know who they are. They see the progress and they see the results. Even if the progress is in baby steps here and there. We love y’all.
Building has been slow due to the heat, but we promise you guys, you don’t want to miss what we’re bringing to the bayou. Thank you to our patrons, thank you to our followers, and thank you to the community of Vancleave for standing behind a rebuild that will last for decades to come.

To make our renters more comfortable about having their property on ours, a 16 camera security system was installed on the property and docks today. Once the bait shop gets its walls put up, another 6-8 cameras will be added. We’ll have 2-3 more stalls ready for renters when some more construction is wrapped up in 3 weeks or so. Come see us!

Most of our patrons have hit the water today for an absolute beast of a heat wave. The boss (my wife) said that I could have the afternoon off, so cheers to all of our followers and we hope y’all have a safe weekend on the water…and help each other out if need be. We’ll see you guys out on the water this evening for the Mystic Krew of Pine Island’s 1st Annual Fireworks Show. Hope it’s a good one!
