πŸ’§ Why Do We Check Water Pressure? πŸ’§

This little gauge is one of the simplest β€” and most important β€” tools we use when evaluating a home's water system.

Before recommending or installing water treatment equipment, we check water pressure to better understand how your plumbing system is performing.

βœ… Helps verify proper pressure for water softeners, filtration systems, and reverse osmosis units
βœ… Identifies high pressure that can put extra strain on plumbing, fixtures, and appliances
βœ… Helps diagnose issues such as pressure fluctuations, leaks, or failing pressure regulators
βœ… Provides a baseline reading so we know your system is operating as intended

Most homes perform best between 50–80 PSI. Pressure outside that range can affect everything from shower performance to the long-term reliability of your plumbing and water treatment equipment.

A water test tells us what's in your water. A pressure test helps us understand how that water is moving through your home. Together, they give us a much clearer picture of your overall water system.

If you've never had your water tested or checked your home's pressure, we'd be happy to help.

The City continues to make progress restoring normal water system operations. City staff successfully returned two wells to service yesterday, increasing available water supply and helping reservoir levels recover. However, power outages yesterday affected the operation of one of City's booster stations, limiting our ability to move water to one of our reservoirs. Despite this setback, reservoir levels continue to trend upward.

To help accelerate recovery and restore normal operating reserves, the City is asking residents to continue reducing outdoor irrigation and other non-essential water use today. These voluntary conservation efforts are helping maintain system reliability while reservoirs continue to recover.

City staff are actively working to return an additional well to service and are hopeful it will be operational tomorrow. With reservoir levels continuing to rise and additional water supply expected to come online, the City anticipates returning to normal operations tomorrow (6/18).

In response to questions about a robocall, this situation did not rise to emergency levels and as such, we didn't want to cause a panic. Many did not notice an impact to water service and most likely won't. We appreciate the community's cooperation and patience as we continue working to restore the system to normal operating conditions.

What you're seeing in this video is an anode rodβ€”the part inside your water heater that helps protect the tank from corrosion.

Over time, the rod wears away as it does its job. Once it's depleted, the water heater tank can become more vulnerable to corrosion and costly repairs.

This is a great example of why routine maintenance matters. Sometimes the biggest issues are the ones you can't see until someone takes a look inside.

If you have questions about your water heater, plumbing system, or water quality, we're always happy to help.

A leak in the ceiling is something no homeowner wants to see. πŸ’§

What starts as a small drip can lead to damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, and more if the source isn't addressed.

If you've noticed signs of a leak, our plumbing team can help identify the problem and recommend the next steps before it becomes a bigger headache.
