A new mustard-based BBQ sauce is simmering as we speak. It needs some fine tuning, but I think it'll be a great compliment to pork when it's ready.

Very excited to announce our first BBQ event of the year: Saturday, June 16th with the great folks at KitchenCru. This will be a Father's Day themed event; a menu hasn't been decided, but a whole hog is under discussion. More details to come.

Getting everything ready for a test run of 3 sauces and 1 rub tomorrow. Will then decide what will be produced on a larger scale.

Working hard on the new blog (www.slaterfoods.wordpress.com) and building the website. Next week the first test batches will be ready. We're getting there, slowly but surely.....

Today I did the kitchen orientation at KitchenCru Culinary Prepspace to begin production of BBQ and hot sauce. Woooo hoooo!!!

Got BigSpill Berry bottled up and some spring salmon in a cure to smoke. Looking forward to both.

Braise/smoking a rosemary and garlic roast in beef broth and pepsi. I've never braised in a BBQ, so we'll see how it goes.
