Final weekend of the season is THIS weekend! Sprinkles or shine.

What do we do with the food we sell at the farm stand?

Today we baked a crustless quiche with eggs and tomatoes and herbs. We also baked French toast with eggs and cinnamon.

And while those were baking, we also baked apples the raccoons love so much - don't worry they still have plenty in the trees.

See you Saturday. Stock up on your baking rosemary, other dried herbs, apples, tomatoes, eggs and Christmas gifts for you, your friends and family.

You can even get your movie popcorn for the nights streaming is more affordable than the actual theater - without the harmful ingredients found in microwave popcorn.

What does it take to bring you baking apples?

A dose of courage. Long clothes to keep the brambles from digging deep into the skin. Bear spray and a marine horn. A fruit picker (because the ladder is being used in another project).

And after all that, you bring down an apple to find the family of raccoons had been nibbling on them up in the tree - using the pine tree as their ladder!

There's much work to be done in this overgrown orchard we've acquired.

This Saturday is our final week of the season. You too can enjoy these delicious apples!

We got the popcorn the birds didn't eat (which was over half this spring 🫨) drying in the greenhouse just in time!

This will be ready soon! Just in time for winter treats.

We're drying sunflower seeds for the chickens too.

Sharing the status of our giant sunflower on this not so sunny day....

From two weeks ago to today, this giant is over 12 feet tall!

It's growing with a multi-sunflower and Cosmos volunteers.

The bees have no complaints!

Most everything you see at our farm stand is grown right here on our property in town - which is just under a quarter acre.

And then there are the Greengage plums....

These plums are so delicious we literally compete with a bear for them! Last year, we expanded and bought an abandoned homestead north of here.

So, currently you will only get the plums from up there. Why, you ask? Because the bear literally tore down the barbed wire around the blueberries, we have some massive development to do to secure the garden up there.

Enjoy the plums! They are a delicious, short season crop. Available this weekend and next weekend only!

If I had just half a dozen eggs, what would I do with them?

I would make a crustless quiche (three eggs), a baked pancake (two eggs), and some cookies (one egg).

The bread didn't need any eggs.... Just if the oven is running, we're running it once 😉

Our pickling cukes are growing fast!

Since our Persian cukes didn't take, we peeled some of the outer skin and thinly sliced the pickling cukes to make cucumber salad.

You too can pick up pickling cukes at the stand this weekend!
