We are very proud of our goats that went to county fair. HSRR Coco got 2nd in her class and Reserve Nigerian Dwarf Sr Doe. HSRR Cinnamon got 3rd in her class. In the Jr show, Cossatot River Farms Pepper got 4th, Cossatot River Farms Oreo got 1st, HSRR Lucy got 1st, and Cossatot River Farms Violet got 1st in their classes with Violet going on to win Grand Champion Nigerian Dwarf Jr Doe. Today we went to our first dairy goat jackpot show. We got three 1st places, a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 4th. Masterpiece won Overall Nigerian Dwarf Buck. We had a blast and got some good prizes. Lucky Clover Showdown was a really well run show, can't wait until next year

Easter babies! Mary was such a good goat. She announced at 6 during feeding that she was going to have her babies within the next hour. She then proceeded to have a boy and 2 girls who all immediately jumped up and started trying to nurse. No one is named yet, we're running short of ideas after 27 babies.
Update: Cara's friend wanted to name one Pepper, so from left to right, they are Salt, Spice, and Pepper.

Friday morning, Brownie finally decided to have a boy and a girl. Jack and Jill look just alike. This should be fun.

Someone didn't understand the assignment. I specifically told Coco this morning, we are going fishing all day, do not have any babies until I get back tonight. As we are cruising down the lake for a ride before going home, I check the camera. At the very edge of the camera's coverage, I see a goat with little shapes moving around it. I yelled babies and David started turning the boat for the landing. Everyone did fine without us at least, Coco had 3 girls and 1 boy that were all walking around by the time we got there. This brings our baby total to 10 girls and 10 boys, 6 more does to go.

So apparently we didn't have a week before new babies were due. Starlight surprised us with a baby on the ground, another trying to get out, and a third waiting impatiently behind him. 2 boys and a girl, all healthy and active. 16 babies total, 7 more mamas to go.

Another early morning unattended birthing. Caramel (i.e. fat goat) had 3 but 1 didn't make it. But it's ok because now Cara can name the little girl Lilo and the boy Stitch. We are getting some reall pretty colors this year. We have a week long break before anyone else is due so maybe we can get some sleep
