Hello to our friends and customers.
We wanted to update you on the Pink Tractor Farm
With much debate and emotion, we have closed our farm stand. Over the years - providing for ourselves and our community has been a source of great satisfaction - but it came at the great cost of 24/7/365 commitment for our family.
After 10 years and with both of us now working full time, we have made the choice to cease operations. We will miss seeing you all and providing our products for you and your families. We will miss lambs, and chicks and fresh produce. We will miss our pork, chicken and eggs. We will miss the time at the table at our dinners, we always enjoyed those. We will miss seeing you all and hearing your stories, and talking about food and life.
We will NOT miss farm chores in all weather, escaped animals, predators, pests, broken equipment. We will not miss the heartbreak of losing an animal or crop, we will not miss battling to fight for our processes and we most definitely will not miss all of the emotion that comes with farming.
We did learn, however, an even greater appreciation for small farmers over our 10 year span. The bureaucracy, expense, emotion and energy it takes to be a farmer of living things (plant and animal) is immeasurable. Farmers are people that sacrifice their lives to feed us and small farms have giant hills to climb to do so. We learned that we live in a community that appreciated what we did and we are grateful for that support. Please continue to support local and small farms - we cannot make it without you.
We will continue to post food and food adventure stories to share with you. The PTF page will still be here as will we for any questions regarding food, travel for food etc.
We do have a small inventory of lamb and beef that will be available by appointment only. Please PM us if you are interested.
We appreciate your patronage and friendship over the last 10 years.
