Our Story ~ The origin of Cafe Altura dates back to the late 1970’s when a group of organic enthusiasts gathered in Ojai, California to live and work on a 75-acre organic citrus farm. The idea was to farm the ranch organically, educate local farmers on organic farming methods, and to develop relationships with organic producers interested in bringing organic products to the United States.
30 Years later and under the same management Cafe Altura remains a family owned and operated business guided by its commitment to bringing only the finest Organic and Fair Trade Arabica beans to the United States. Our production facility located in Ventura, CA is inspected yearly and certified by the Stellar Certification Agency to ensure compliance with all state, federal and USDA organic regulations. All of our Organic and Fair Trade coffees are small batch roasted and air cooled helping to develop the distinct flavors of Café Altura Coffee. All orders to Café Altura are processed ‘just in time’ meaning your coffee is roasted only days prior to leaving our facility. Every bag and can of Café Altura is vacuum packed to protect the unique taste and aromas of our coffees until it arrives at your doorstep. Cafe Altura offers a broad range of organic products from our popular 12oz Pre-Ground Cans and 2 lb. Whole Bean Vacuum sealed bags to our brand new 3.5oz Freeze Dried Instant Coffee.
