2026 is our year of simplicity and intentionality 🤍🌽🎃
As we look ahead to the 2026 season, our family has spent a lot of time praying, reflecting, and having honest conversations about what this next year needs to look like — and where God is leading us.
This year, we’re choosing simplicity, sustainability, healing, and joy.
While 2026 marks our fifth year owning the farm, this land has been in Mark’s family since 1910. As our family and responsibilities have grown, we’ve had to be intentional about how we operate and the pace we keep. Between the physical demands of farming, raising a family, ongoing health challenges, and Mark running his construction business full-time, the way we were operating simply wasn’t sustainable. Long days and seven-day workweeks take a toll on our bodies and pull time away from what matters most.
Sometimes the most faithful choice isn’t pushing harder, but slowing down and stewarding well what God has entrusted to us — our land, our work, and our family.
For 2026, we’re intentionally narrowing our focus. Not because we can’t do it all — but because we feel called not to.
🌽 Sweet corn will be our main focus, backed by 35 years of experience, with the goal of growing the best crop possible and giving it the time and care it deserves.
🎃 Pumpkins and squash will remain a strong part of our fall stand, and we’re excited to fully lean into that season.
🌻 Flowers will take a significant step back this year. While a very small amount may still be grown simply because they bring joy, they will not be a main focus or offered in the same way as past seasons.
Jessica was offered a part-time church secretary position — something she never imagined herself doing outside the farm. But she has always loved serving in our church, and when this opportunity became available, she felt clearly called to apply. We truly believe this is where God wants her in this season.
This year is about quality over quantity — in our crops, our time, and our energy. It’s about being present with our kids, having the margin to preserve and can what we grow, and building a truly sustainable supply for our family instead of constantly racing the clock.
Farming will always be busy (because… farming 🙃), but 2026 is our year to stop draining ourselves and start doing things with intention, care, and joy again.
As we step into this next season, we’re committing our plans to the Lord and trusting Him to establish them.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
— Proverbs 16:3
