SCAM AWARENESS POST‼️‼️‼️
I am a small business owner who cherishes my time and my work, and frankly this post was needed to be made because I am so sick of these scams. This post is also for other small business owners who don’t see the early signs of a scam, so you can know what to pay attention to.
• I had a woman inbox me about a cake order. I first checked her page just to see if her page was real. It says she is active on Facebook, over 50K post, so I go ahead and message her back. She sent me the cutest design wanting a cake and a smash cake for her daughter’s 1st birthday party. I was eager to take her order because I have a TON of availability, and last month had been really slow for me. It’s also such a really cute design!
•🚩 The first red flag was that she didn’t want to give much detail regarding allergies, flavors, or anything… she was just in a rush to know the total .
🚩 the second red flag was the demand for me to tell her the total and give my cashapp so she could pay immediately
🚩lastly, she refused to place an order on my website. She stated she didn’t understand how to use the link or place an order with the link I sent.
I then proceeded to take her order for her, because I understand that not everyone is tech savvy and maybe she preferred for me to help her and place it for her.
- I took my SWEET SWEEET TIME, to communicate with this person, place an order for her, and answer any questions she may have had , just for her to turn around and try and send me false information.
SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS ‼️‼️🚩🚩
***CASH APP WOULD NEVER DISCLOSE TO AN OUTSIDE PERSON THAT YOUR ACCOUNT IS ON HOLD
*** CASH APP WOULD NEVER EVER REACH OUT, yet alone through a random person, to have you speak to them…
I am so frustrated because this is the 2nd cake scam in 2 weeks. I work so hard to make cake content and post about my cakes everywhere, just to reach clients that see my work and choose me to make their special moments sweeter and memorable. So as you can see I am disheartened when I get FAKE SCAM ORDERS!!!
To any small business owner, please pay attention to the signs so that way you don’t get scammed out of your hard work and your money. Report their page as Scam or Fraud and please block them.
If you finished reading this post thank you staying , I know it was a long post, I just am trying to raise awareness. 🫶🏽
