Painted Wings Farm Painted Wings Farm is a small hobby farm where we raise and offer rare chicken breeds. We offer hatching eggs and unsexed chicks.

Our flock is tested yearly for Avian Influenza, Pullorum and Mycoplasma, however we're not NPIP.

🤎 Customer Updates: Meet Victor & Victoria! 🤎

One of our favorite things about raising chickens is getting to watch their stories continue long after they leave our farm. We seriously love receiving updates from our customers, and it's especially exciting when we get to see our Russian Pavlovskayas growing up!

With our shortened breeding season last year as we prepared to welcome our little one, we only had the opportunity to send our Russian Pavlovskayas (as hatching eggs) home with one customer. We're so incredibly thankful that she continues to share photos and updates with us as these beautiful birds grow! ♡

Meet Victor & Victoria! 🥹 Aren't they gorgeous?

Their mama recently shared her experience raising them:

"They are so much fun! More than lawn ornaments, they have so much personality!"

And we couldn't agree more! ❤️ These birds are beautiful, of course, but there's so much more to love about them than their striking appearance. They have personalities all their own, and seeing our flock continue to produce this in the chicks makes us so happy.

We would absolutely love to see more people discover just how wonderful Russian Pavlovskayas truly are and watch them find their way into more flocks around here. There's something special about sharing a breed you're passionate about with others and seeing that appreciation grow.

We LOVE getting updates! 🥰

A wonderful customer sent us photos of her Shetland Hens that she hatched from our breeding flock, along with some of the gorgeous blue & green eggs they’re laying! 💙💚 And look at the size of those eggs... some are LARGE and EXTRA LARGE! These are pullet eggs mind you!

One of our favorite parts of breeding is getting to see the babies from our breeding flocks grow up in their new homes. It makes us so happy to see them thriving and doing exactly what Shetland Hens do best — being beautiful, quirky little girls and laying those gorgeous colorful eggs! 🥰

We’ve had our hands quite full with our own little baby this year, so we haven’t been able to share customer updates nearly as often as we’d like. But please know that we absolutely LOVE seeing them! ❤️

So keep those pictures and updates coming — nothing makes us happier than seeing our Painted Wings babies all grown up! 😊 💚

We just put up our new sign, and I have to say… I think it might be one of my favorite little touches yet! When we're out of eggs, you simply “crack” it open! 😂🥚

We have a new man on the block! It's been wonderful watching Mousse grow up these past 6 months. We will be having him join our Shetland breeder flock next year. Ariel, our beloved Shetland rooster from this year, started mating too aggressively and tore up nearly all our girl's backs. So he was retired and currently the girls are spending their time without a man so they can recover ♡.

Looking forward to the chicks this guy produces next year. He's such a kind soul and gentleman 💖.

**She's found a home**

We have a 6 month old Dominique hen looking for a new flock!

Brooke just started laying about a week ago, so she’s at the very beginning of her laying career. This beautiful girl has many productive years ahead of her and would make a wonderful addition to the right flock!

Age: 24 weeks old
Breed: Dominique
Eggs: Will lay large tan eggs at maturity

A note about her flock requirements: She does best with larger, confident hens. She has a bit of a bossy personality towards smaller or more timid birds, so we’re looking for a home where she’ll be housed with hens who are standard size (RIR, Barred Rocks, Orpingtons, Wyandottes etc) ♡

She’s a lovely young hen and we’d love to see her go to a flock that’s a good fit for her personality!
