Orchid Island Brewery is a small family owned & operated company based out of Vero Beach, FL. OIB has built a reputation for incorporating local Indian River citrus into IPA's and sour beers. Mixing a global view and a local knowledge, the brewery has allowed us to follow an affinity since our first beer was brewed in 2008. Along the way came the home brew shops, the beer competitions, the friends and the bottle share parties, going Pro, the good and the bad, the collaboration trips, and the stokedness. The town of Orchid Island and Indian River County originated around the citrus industry. The area is widely recognized as a region that grows the planet's best citrus. During winter months when citrus is in its peak harvest, cold snaps sweeten the citrus. If it freezes, it spoils however. What makes Orchid Island unique is its proximity to the ocean and the Indian River lagoon. During the worst winter cold fronts, the ocean and river have a warming affect on the island that keeps the fruit above freezing. The combination of OIB's geography and climate are what lend to a deep sense of place.

You won’t find the Rangpur Lime in the local produce aisle despite commercial production in Florida since its import from Bangladesh in the late 1800s.

Technically a Mandarin x Citron hybrid, the Rangpur exists in the same culinary space as a lemon or lime; a strong sour presence but with layers of complex and satisfying flavors invoking a spectrum of citrus profiles. We use a variety of processes to extract that flavor, leaving the bitterness behind, resulting in dry peel, sweet syrup and our recently developed liquid zest distillate.

Experience the Grove to Glass freshness of pure Indian River Citrus infused b**rs at Orchid Island Brewery in Vero Beach, Florida.

Pure distilled citrus misted across the glass before the pour, now with every Star Ruby Imperial IPA.

Grapefruit flavor you can’t ignore.

10/09/2026

The next evolution in Star Ruby & our Grove to Glass Project produces an unrivaled first impression of pure citrus that blooms across the bar in a bouquet of juicy grapefruit essence.

We hand pick and peel each batch for a solvent-less extraction process that produces a clean & pure distillate that demands sensory attention.

Starting tonight your pint glass will be misted with our liquid zest distillate and freshly poured over for the purest citrus flavor delivery any b**r has to offer.
