As we prepare our yard for garlic planting on stolen land, we think about Palestinians who should be harvesting and pressing olives from trees planted by their ancestors. We honor Palestinian farmers who cannot return home, because they have been murdered or pushed out by a settler state funded by billions of U.S. tax dollars.

Please keep talking about this, pressuring your reps to enact a ceasefire, boycotting corporations that arm and support Israel’s violence, learning about the history of settler colonialism and ongoing ethnic cleansing and current genocide of Palestinians, speaking out against Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. We need your care and your fight.

Fun fact: when Sam isn’t farming, they work at Milestone Democratic School as an advisor and instructor. Milestone is a democratically-run school where students learn through personalized learning, in hopes of serving students who are least served by existing schools.

We’re excited to be working with Milestone and Wonderfarm to help realize their goal of creating a school garden where students can eat the food they grow. The school garden will not only help sustain students, but our families and larger community, as well. When the garden is planted, it will provide daily opportunities for students to be out in nature, growing their own food and learning about food justice.

Currently there’s a fundraiser through SeedMoney to help fund the project! Follow the link to read more about it and consider giving if you’re able or share with others who might be interested. Thanks!

We are entering Week 5 of our CSA (😮) and are feeling so lucky to be growing food for you all. It’s hard work, and the weather, weeds and pests always keep us guessing, but the beauty and bounty of nature bowl us over every day. Thanks to all for supporting us!

Sam’s brother Kai came by the farm last weekend to help plant potatoes. First we prepped the bed with a broadfork, stirrup hoe and rake, and then in went four different varieties of potatoes! 🤎🥔

In other springtime news, we’ve got arugula and other greens growing in the hoop house and all the onions are in the ground 🧅✨

AND we’ve only got a few CSA spots left, so if you’re interested in signing up, head over to our website - https://www.jumpingspiderfarm.com/csa
