In this video, we install the 3-lb package from our third package load. We're also installing a 4-lb package at the same time. Both are started with new frames and undrawn foundation. They will be managed identically so we can track and compare the development of both. While we expect both sets of package bees to do well, the population of the 4-lb package is around 14,000 workers while the population of the 3-lb package is around 10,500, so it's likely that the 4-lb package will get off to a faster start. Be sure to watch their progress this season!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! I hope your day is more relaxing than it is for our queens!

We’re open from 9-3 today and 9-5 for package bee pickups. We have plenty of honey and beekeeping supplies, too. Stop by to check it out!

We're receiving so many last minute orders for package bees that I added more to my order. If you want a package, pay for it here before 5pm and we can get it for you. After that, we can't. The only option is a 3-lb package with a marked queen.

This time, we really mean it. It's your last chance.

Supering up. Looking fantastic!

In this video, we show the progress of package bees installed on new frames with undrawn plastic foundation 22 days earlier and 8 days earlier. It's not too late to start with package bees, and a 4-lb package can really help. Deposits for all orders must be received by Monday, May 4. Don't miss out on either getting started as a beekeeper or putting that extra equipment to good use this season. Order here: https://www.stonewallapiary.com/packages.php

There were a lot of questions about yesterday’s post about nucs. Here’s a little more explanation.
