Last call for $4 cushaw or pumpkin butter!
The price returns to $8 tonight since I’ll have a fresh batch of both for you! Sip and Sample tomorrow (Saturday) at Up the Creek Convenience, ya know.

Grab yours now from the online store. You don’t have to do the porch pick up today. But, remember to tell me what day and an approximate time that you’d like to pick up. My agenda is pretty busy this weekend, but I can squeeze a few deliveries to the pine tree into my schedule!

Coming to the Sip and Sample? Take a peek at the online store and make sure there’s nothing you absolutely must have that I may not be bringing. You can pick up at the event!

All the flavors for the Sip & Sample on Saturday have been chosen! I’ll be offering 22 different varieties of culinary delight. Some sweet and some savory! You’ll have to come visit with us to find out what you can try and buy!

Yes. I’ll be sampling some of my stranger combinations. This is your chance to try so many different items (there are four of us local producer-suppliers) before you commit with your grocery or gift budget.

That’s right. It’s time to start thinking about gift season. Host gifts. Office gifts. Mail carrier gifts. Weird aunt you drew in the family drawing gifts. Come see what we have to offer that might help you cross some folks off your list!

Come see me at Up the Creek Convenience from 12p to 5p. Try all the things. Buy a bunch of the things. Eat lunch.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Those are, indeed, blackberries. At the end of October.

There’s nothing strange going on. I froze some berries for special occasions. The Sip and Sample at upthecreekco (Up the Creek Convenience) on Saturday is the special occasion!

There will be semi-seedless blackberry jam to sample and take home!
I’m calling it semi-seedless because I know a handful of seeds will sneak through from the food mill. Some of the seeds are smaller than the holes in the smallest screen for the mill.

Come on out to Mortonsville on Saturday from 12p to 5p. You can support five local small businesses at once! Plus, it’s a gorgeous country drive.

Can’t make it out? Share the posts about the event. I bet you have a friend or two
looking for something fun but quick to do.

I’d say that the blackberry jam will sell out. It usually does! You can pre-order your jar (and anything else that suits your fancy) from the online store. Just let me know that you want to pick up at the Sip and Sample.

I’ve chosen the savory items that I will be sampling on Saturday. You’ll have to come see us to try what I’m offering. It’s a surprise!

I’ll also be bringing all 3 flavors of butters; apple, pumpkin and cushaw. You’ll have to taste all three. They are all quite different from each other.

But, I need help deciding which jams and jellies to sample. I’m all out of decisions today, it seems.
Which flavors are you dying to try? Something odd like Peach Coriander? Or, something simple like Apple Jelly? Take a look at the online store if you need a reminder of what all I have. There’s a bunch!

https://stonehedgefarmproduce.square.site/

Come sip some hot apple c***r and try samples from several of Up the Creek’s producer-suppliers! You can even have a late lunch or early dinner while you visit!

(also there are still $4 pumpkin and cushaw butters in the online store, available for porch pickup at your convenience)

Most of you didn’t see the sign on the table last night. That isn’t going to stop me from talking about it.

I promised fifty cents from every jar sold was to be donated to the Anderson County High School Bands.
As you can see in the graphic, I sold 17 items in the “Jams and Things” category. That includes jams, jellies, and butters (even the two not actually in jars). That comes to just $8.50 for the band. It was a slow night, unfortunately.

I’m going to round that $8.50 up to $10. And, I’m going to challenge you to donate at least $10 to the middle and high school bands in your area. These kids work their asses off on shoestring budgets mostly made from fundraisers and showcases like last night.

Support local music. Start with the kids.

I made too much pumpkin and cushaw butter for yesterday’s event. Keep reading. I’m getting to my point.

Since pumpkin and winter squash (cushaw) are not recommended for canning, I offer my butters fresh. They have a 30 day shelf life. That means, this batch of butters is good until the middle of next month.

And, they are half price until they are sold out!!! Ten glorious ounces of sweet and spiced fall goodness for just $4.

Order yours for porch pickup here at the farm. When you place your order, be sure to let me know what day and a general timeframe you’d like to pick up.

Today’s the day!

The Anderson County High School Marching Band community performance!

Come on out between 4pm and 8pm to support the marching band. There’s loads of activities for the kids, vendors with an assortment of wares (me! i’m a vendor with wares!), a silent auction and more! The band showcases their 2026 show at 8pm. Best part? It’s all free. Except for what you buy at the bake sale, vendors wares, etc.

Toss on a jacket, bundle up the kids, and come to Anderson Co High School in Lawrenceburg! Support these hardworking, award winning kids!

My three county quest for the weirdness you see pictured here ended just a few miles from the house!

Bull & Honey had a couple of regular cushaw and could get more. Plus, they could get me this white whale of a cushaw! I’m guess this bad boy will easily make a double six pound batch of cushaw butter!

Yup. Cushaw butter. Like apple or pumpkin butter, but more delicate and less right in your face spices. Ginger and cardamom dominate whereas cinnamon and clove are the dominant flavors in the other two.

I’ll be sampling (and selling) both the pumpkin and cushaw butters tomorrow evening at the Anderson Co High School marching band’s community performance!

Since the low for Saturday night keeps holding at about 35 degrees, I went ahead and picked the hot peppers one (maybe) last time. If we get frost, I’ve gotten out what will be used. If we don’t get frost, I’ll pick them again before the next chance!

This batch, like many this season, is headed to stonejackbakers. Gotta keep Taylor’s Mexicali bread spicy! If you want to try it, or any of Taylor’s other baked deliciousness, she’s at the Lexington Farmers Market this weekend. Follow her on social media. She’s hilarious as well as an excellent baker!

You can come see me this weekend, too!

I’ll be in Lawrenceburg at Anderson Co High School with the marching band and their community performance. Everything gets going at 4pm. See my past posts for what “everything” includes. The band performs at 8pm.

Pre-order what your heart desires to be sure I have it for you at market! I’m not bringing everything or a bunch of anything!
I will sell out of items. Be sure to tell me you want to pick up in Lawrenceburg!
