Well, it finally happened!! Today, I received THE Holy Grail of watermelon seeds!!

🍉🍉BRADFORD FAMILY WATERMELONS🍉🍉

I have been waiting for these rare and exclusive seeds for years! I am so thrilled and excited to plant and grow these this year🤞🏼praying I have a successful crop and can save seeds to propagate this variety year after year. If you see me this summer, ask me about them! If they grow well (unsure - they hate clay and like sandy loamy soil…going to use a raised bed to get the soil right) I’ll gladly share a bite of what is supposed to be the most amazing tasting watermelon to exist in human history. If you don’t know the history of Nat Bradford and his family’s nearly extinct watermelons, look it up. It’s a really fascinating story.

I also scored three local, small farm created varieties, and, the also legendary Bradford Family Okra seeds!

There may be snow on the ground today, but my mind is already thinking about planting schedules and April showers…can’t wait for seed season ❤️❤️

Sooo, I lost my wallet Tuesday. Looked in every vehicle I had been in. All my coat pockets. Even checked the barn! No wallet. I walk outside the front door last night, and to my surprise Dixie is right there at the door. I tell her to get back, and she tosses her head…and drops my wallet. No joke! I have no idea where she got it. Weirdest thing ever!! Thanks, Dixie!
