⚜️Give Your Mardi Gras Beads a Second Life!⚜️
Mardi Gras may be over, but your beads can still make a difference! Instead of tossing them away, give them a new purpose!
The Explore Orange Convention & Visitors Bureau is partnering with Garlyn Place to launch a new annual Mardi Gras Bead Recycle Program called Krewe for a Clean Future. By donating your extra beads, you’re helping turn parade throws into opportunity, sustainability, and purpose right here in our community.
Garlyn Place is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by creating opportunities for independence, connection, and meaningful work. Through this recycling project, Uniters at Garlyn Place will learn valuable vocational skills — including sterilizing, sorting, counting, packaging, and reselling beads — helping build job readiness while supporting long-term program sustainability.
⚜️ Why participate?
✅ Keep thousands of beads out of the trash
✅ Support vocational training in our community
✅ Help create a sustainable local program with lasting impact
