Hive Hive

So it’s taken a while longer that I had hoped, but HiveHive.net is back up and running!

Currently, there are only candles and soaps on the site, but later this month, I will have raw wildflower (East and West Coast) varieties, as well as orange blossom, buckwheat, and alfalfa. Look for a coupon code in the near future to help offset any shipping costs for my hometown Vienna faithful. I will post when it’s all ready. 🐝

Only 3 more days before HiveHive.net goes offline for a while.

I still have a dozen or so pounds of local honey, limited quantities of alfalfa blossom, orange blossom, raw clover, raw wildflower and buckwheat. Some candles and soaps left as well.

It’s officially allergy season. Pollen is in the air as evidenced by the bee in this short video. You can see her approach the landing board with her pollen sacs full (the little yellow colored suitcases of pollen on her hind legs).

A few facts about Raw Local Honey:

-The very same pollen giving you fits this time of year is present in trace amounts in raw local honey

-Raw is a processing term which means the honey has not been pasteurized, or heated beyond 106F, and thus contains “impurities”

-Consuming raw local honey regularly can expose you to these pollens in micro doses, and help you build immunities

-If consuming honey for allergies, NEVER put it in tea, coffee, or other hot drinks. Once honey is warmed beyond 106F, it has been pasteurized, and all the “impurities” cooked out. If taking for allergies, consume at room temperature (by the spoon, on yoghurt, oatmeal, etc)
