I am horrible about updating on what is happening at the farm. It's been a rough couple of weeks.
Right after load-out(sending birds to market) which we do late at night, we suddenly were left without power. After much struggle, we called our good friends at Hudson Electric to assist. They located an underground wire break, among other assists that we are grateful for.. A few days later, same situation. Luckily, based on knowledge bestowed on us from Andy Hudson we had an idea where to look. My days are getting mixed up, but up next we had a swing away auger plug up and break randomly. I could not locate the correct parts, so again called in a favor. Fortunately, Christian Erickson and Keaton Laymon came in clutch and allowed the use of an auger to unload some trucks we had coming in from John Baker and his dad Bob. Next up. As I'm working on said broken auger, I hear a massively not good sound coming from our feed mill. Jimmy comes over and tells me that something is up. Yep, I could not miss that sound. The auger housing had broken in multiple places. Here is where I will take you through a few of the steps. In somewhat minor issues, after this was fixed Ryder Umber was hauling feed to a barn and calls to tell me a chain had snapped that rotates the auger of the feed truck.
Oh, P.s, baby Ezra is an absolute party animal at night and would definitely not like to let me feel left out.
