Excited to have added these 3 to the homestead/ meat garden! 2 barrows will grow out to fill the freezers and 1 boar to do his thing before he joins the others in freezer camp.
One of the top questions I get is how can we process our own animals, isn't it sad? And the answer is: processing day is never full of laughs but it is full of gratitude. Gratitude for knowing that these animals lived happy days, on green pastures, foraging, being loved on, cared for, and with room to move and be. Gratitude for their sacrifice, even if it isn't their choice. Gratitude for knowing that the exact moment that they make that sacrifice is done with extreme respect, is quick, low-stress, and unbeknownst to them. Gratitude for being able to provide for our family while also providing quality lives for those that sustain us.
