If you’ve ever been to the farm, chances are you’ve met the man behind so much of what happens here, my dad.

I’ve always looked up to him. Not because he’s perfect trust me, he isn’t, but because he’s one of the hardest working people I know. He has taught me what it means to show up every day, even when you’re tired, stressed, or things don’t go according to plan. The older I get, the more I realize how much of who I am comes from him. His work ethic, his love for agriculture, his willingness to help others, and his determination to get the job done no matter what, even if that means we’re out somewhere until 2 or 3 in the morning.

Now, I will say, the man probably calls me 10+ times a day. Most of the time it’s for something that could have been a text, and sometimes it’s just to ask where I am when I’m standing 100 feet away. But I wouldn’t trade those phone calls for anything.

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad around. I love you more than words can say, even if I occasionally let your calls go to voicemail.

And while I’m celebrating my own dad today, I also want to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures who support our farm. Thank you for all you do.

Even with camp starting last week and being in full swing, we’ve had some of the hardest days we’ve ever had on the farm. (I’ll explain more in a later post.)

Sunday evening I went to check on one of our petting zoo cows, Ana (like from Frozen, not Anna), and noticed she was slowly starting to dilate. I called Dad and told him I thought it would still be a little while.

For those of you who have been around for a while or have seen me out at events, you probably know Ana. She was my bottle calf almost four years ago. She’s been to schools, events, and all kinds of farm activities with me over the years. She’s halter broke, loves attention, and is one of the sweetest cows you’ll ever meet. It’s hard to believe she’ll be 4 years old this October.

Yesterday morning, in the middle of all the chaos of getting ready for camp, I went to check on her and found that she had already had her calf. I burst into tears. It had been such a hard few days, and in that moment it felt like the Lord was giving us a little sunshine after a storm.

As I stood there looking at that baby calf, I couldn’t help but think about how blessed we are to serve a God who listens. A God who comforts us when we’re hurting, gives us strength when we’re weary, and so often sends little reminders that He sees exactly where we are. I truly believe this little calf was one of those reminders. A “here you go, you need some joy” calf. And goodness, was she right on time.

The camp kids were just as excited as I was. When I took them up to the barn and they got to meet her, there were squeals and smiles everywhere. They’ve spent the day giving me all kinds of suggestions for what we should name her, and honestly some of them have been pretty creative!

As of right now she doesn’t have a name, but I’m sure it won’t be long before this sweet little girl gets one.

As I sit here on the night before our first week of Summer Camp begins, I can’t help but be amazed at where we started and where the Lord has brought us.

This summer marks our 5th year of Farm Camp, and it’s incredible to look back and see how much it has grown. The Lord has been so gracious to us. We have children signed up this year who are attending their 5th summer of camp with us, and it has been such an honor to watch them grow over the years. I’m also so excited to welcome all of our new campers this summer!

Each year camp has grown, and that is something I never want to take for granted. If it weren’t for this community, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to share my love for the farm and agriculture with so many children. I feel incredibly blessed every day to do what I love and what I believe God has called me to do.

As we begin another summer, I have one simple request: would you join me in praying for every child who walks through our gates? My prayer is that they have an amazing week, learn about agriculture, make wonderful memories, and most importantly, leave knowing that they are deeply loved by the same God who created every animal, every field, and every one of them. I pray they come to know that He desires a relationship with them and cares for them more than they can imagine.

Thank you for supporting us, praying for us, and allowing us to be a small part of so many childhood memories. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for this summer.

Today is about so much more than cookouts, long weekends, and time with family. 🇺🇸

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country. Because of their sacrifice, we have the freedoms we often take for granted every single day.

No amount of gratitude will ever truly be enough for those who paid the ultimate price and for the families who continue carrying that sacrifice long after the uniforms are folded away.

Today we remember them. We honor them. And we thank them. May we never forget the cost of the freedoms we enjoy every single day. ❤️🤍💙

Happy Birthday to the woman who tries her best to keep all of us in line. The one who’s probably ready to pull her hair out dealing with Dad and I on a daily basis. Honestly, Emily may be Mom’s only saving grace… although she can stress Mom out just as good as the rest of us sometimes.

Mom does so much behind the scenes that people never see. She’s our hayride driver, problem solver, organizer, and somehow always the first one ready to jump in and help whenever I need her. I may not be the best when it comes to organization, but somehow Mom just knows exactly when I’m in over my head. Especially when I call her on a random Tuesday because I forgot about an engagement and suddenly need help pulling everything together.

She selflessly takes care of all of us, puts her family before herself, and works herself to the bone to make sure everything gets done. Help me wish the best mom in the world a very Happy Birthday!! ♥️
