🌝 🌟 Last night's Sound Bath was magical!

Even with a few bugs, the sunset and the sight of bats flying over the animals made for an unforgettable experience. Bart the peacock was right there with us enjoying the peace while we raised funds for our animal care programs.

Thank you for making it a success & thank you Angelique from Whole Image Wellness for leading us. Will we see you at the next one?

🎃 A LOCAL BUSINESS WE LOVE — AND ONE THAT LOVES OUR ANIMALS!🎃

If you’ve ever dreamed of having one of those absolutely gorgeous fall porches without hauling home dozens of pumpkins, mums, hay bales and cornstalks yourself, check out Proper Porch!

Proper Porch creates beautiful, curated fall pumpkin displays using locally sourced pumpkins in all different colors, shapes and textures — and they do the heavy lifting for you! They are now booking for Fall 2026 and serve the Cherry Hill/South Jersey area.

But here’s the part that makes Proper Porch extra special to us. ❤️

When the season is over, Proper Porch donates their pumpkins to Muddy Paws Farm Rescue! 🎃🐐🐄

Instead of those beautiful pumpkins simply reaching the end of their decorating life, they get another purpose here at the farm. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and for a local business that makes giving back part of what they do.

So if your porch needs a little fall magic this year, please consider supporting a business that supports **Muddy Paws Farm Rescue**.

🎉 Happy Birthday to Muddy Paws Farm Rescue’s most dedicated supporter: Farmer Joan! ❤️

I’m not going to tell you how old Joan is… but if I did, you would say, “Oh, sh*t!”

Joan gives an incredible amount of herself to Muddy Paws Farm and, most importantly, to the animals who call this place home. Her time, her energy, her concern, her determination and her enormous heart, are woven into this rescue in more ways than she realizes.

She worries about the animals. She advocates for them. She notices when something isn’t right. She shows up. And then she shows up again. Constantly. Without Fail.

We could not do what we do without her.

Joan is also one of the most stubborn, determined women I know. Life occasionally tries to suggest she should slow down a little and Joan’s responds “Absolutely not.”

She may not be as strong as she wants — and believe me, she is NOT happy about that — but that does not affect her fire, determination or fierce love for these animals.

I ask you to help us celebrate Joan today — volunteer, animal advocate, worrier, worker, force of nature, and a very loved and important part of the Muddy Paws Farm family.

Happy Birthday, Joan. ❤️ We love you, we appreciate you, and we are so incredibly grateful for everything you give to us and to the animals. 🐐🐴🐄🦆❤️

Muddy Paws Farm Rescue is a family affair, and today we are so excited to share that our family is growing again — with another human this time! ❤️

Today was Coles & Lilly’s gender reveal! And for those keeping score at home, this little one will be grandbaby #8 for Farmer Howard & Farmer Deb — and yes, all 8 are age 6 and under! 😳😂❤️

A huge thank you to Hannah & Claire for planning everything, making it so special, and keeping the secret from all of us!!

Now please enjoy watching the moment we all found out what our baby (kid #4 of 4) and Lilly are having! 💙🩷

🎉 Did you know Frankie was born right here at Muddy Paws Farm !

Frankie turns 7 today and we could not be more excited! 🌟 His journey started when we gave his mother Kiki a home after she was rescued from a slaughter auction. We knew Kiki was pregnant when we took her, but there was no way to tell when she would give birth. After months of waiting, Frankie finally made his grand entrance before daybreak on August 20th.

I never knew you could love a donkey so much, and seeing him grow over these seven years has been an absolute joy!!

Happy Birthday Frankie ~ Farmer Deb LOVES you !!!

On July 11th, we held our annual 4th of July/Grandkids Olympics party to coincide with Southampton’s fireworks display. (Thank you, Southampton — we love your fireworks!)

With 5 of our 7 grandkids there — all under 5 — it was a hilarious, chaotic and an overwhelmingly wonderful time.

At one point, 2-year-old Dave, whose personal motto is NEVER STOP, grabbed two tiny fistfuls of landscaping pebbles and threw them into the pool.

He was immediately tackled by his parents and redirected, but his aim was impeccable.

Direct hit.

Tiny landscaping pebbles scattered all over the bottom of the pool.

For the next week or two, Farmer Howard and I searched the bottom of the pool with our feet, trying to find them. Once one was located, we would begin the dreaded toe extraction.

Capturing a small pebble firmly between your toes takes athleticism and finesse, and is a skill you apparently don’t automatically carry with you from childhood. But perseverance would eventually win out. Once a pebble had been caught and then successfully transferred to our hands, we would hobble toward the side of the pool while fighting through the foot cramp and toss the pebble into the yard.

Eventually, a little ceremony developed:

Hobble to the side of the pool.
Work through the foot cramp.
Sigh.
“F.U. Dave.”
Toss the offending pebble into the yard.

Fortunately, thanks to a hot July and lots of pool time, we eventually extracted every one of Dave’s landscaping pebbles.

The ceremony was retired — until this past weekend.

Apparently, it has now been repurposed.

Every time I go to sit down.
Every time I get back up.
Every time I attempt to use a muscle I had apparently forgotten existed…
Sigh.
“F.U. Mike.”

After a few deep breaths and a few “I THINK I CANs” on the way there, Farmer Howard and Farmer Deb officially started training at Stellar Athletics today!

We recently turned 60 and realize we need to stay strong to keep up with all of our rescued animals! ❤️

What makes this extra special is that Stellar Athletics was created and is run by two “kids” that Farmer Howard coached in hockey and we watched grow up.

It’s been exciting to watch Mike Weaver & Shane Brennan build their business over the years, and we’re honored to be a small part of it — and now let them coach us!

Here’s to getting stronger, staying active, and making sure we can keep running Muddy Paws Farm Rescue for many years to come! 💪🐾❤️
