Fullblood Wagyu sires - $2500 each

I have two Fullblood Wagyu sires available for sale. Our policy is to use the bulls on our cows for 2 years and then to sell them as 4 year-olds with many years of service available to the next owner.

We run two breeding periods (3 month each) per year and these bulls are about to come out of the pasture (Feb 6) and are immediately available.

The first bull is WFW Bama K RedStar 46D (FB27187). He is a black/red cross with big names on his pedigree from both the black and red side. We believe that the using a black/red cross brings the frame and size from the red Wagyu but retains the marbling of the blacks. We raised him from an embryo from our best donor cow (LMR Ms Kenichi 3401A) and the outstanding red sire Kalanga Red Star. I wish I had a 100 of this mating. If you put faith in the SCD/Tenderness tests, he is a AA/6. He is 4 1/2 years old - we used him for one extra season because I wanted more of his calves on the ground.

The second bull is WFW Ala Red Emperor 52E (FB34485). He is also a black/red cross. This is an embryo I purchased from another breeder and features ESF Michifuku 614-029 as the dam and another famous red bull, Heart Brand Red Emperor as the sire. Again, lots of Wagyu superstars in his pedigree. He is 3 1/2 years old.

Both bulls are guaranteed sound and some reasonable delivery is negotiable. Have a look at these bulls!

We are finally catching up from all of the unsolicited orders for sides of beef and I have two sides available now that have not been claimed yet. (Sorry for the short notice.)

One is from a fullblood steer and the other is from an F1 (50%) Wagyu cross. Both should be outstanding beef.

Have a look at the website for information on these sides - but do it quick, the deadline for claiming them is noon on Tuesday, Aug 18.

(Note: the picture only shows 25% of a representative side of beef - can't fit a whole side on my freezer table!)

Hey Folks -

We are working to promote our Custom Beef business again - it has been a back burner priority for a while with all the excitement around Farmers Markets and wholesale. I'm finally getting around to updating our Farm website though and am starting with the "available beef" schedule.

For 2019, we will have a continuous supply of beef by the side - everything from F1 (50% Wagyu) all the way up to Fullbloods (100% Wagyu). When you are ready for a side of beef, just let us know and we will divert one that would otherwise go to wholesale/retail your way.

Pricing and availability is on the website - e-mail or message me for more details!

Sigh ... saying good bye is hard.

The boots on the right were given to me by my friend and mentor in the cattle business for Christmas the very year that I got started "playing cowboy" - 1999. They have been my go to "every day boots" for that whole time. I own pairs of much fancier and expensive boots, but these, well they just fit. And, while they weren't "work boots" they saw their share of mud and cow pies since life doesn't always wait for you to change shoes. A good coat of polish gave them more class and character in my book than the fancy ones. Re-soled two times and ready for it again if the uppers had it in them - but its time to let them go.

It's hard to find a pair of round-toed, double stitched, crepe soles these days - I guess times and styles have changed. The new ones on the left are pretty close. And we'll see - if they give me 20 good years, I guess I'll be happy.

Lots of new projects going on here at the farm - hopefully next week I can post some pics from them.

This was a week like only spring in North Alabama can serve up. It started out bitterly cold with us working to keep water tanks flowing and ice free after nights with lows in the 20s, and ended today with a beautiful (if somewhat overcast) day for a walk - one where we opened up the windows to let the house air out!

New calves are popping up like wildflowers! 5 new ones this week including two fullbloods. Congratulations to Ms Dahlia 17D and Ms Kalimantan 24D (both part of the "flower series cows" for the latest two!

When the daffodils emerge, the rye grass gets going again, and new calves start to appear (in the background), can Spring be far behind?!?

We are put the finishing touches on our February breeding season and are hoping for good results even with the terrible weather we've been having. All of this rain and cold is hard on cows, but they had good responses and we either AI'ed or transferred fullblood Wagyu embryos into 17 cows with another 10 or so to go on clean-up rounds in the coming weeks. These calves should arrive in November.

"Moving Day" was also fun. This is when the cattle from our "birthing and breeding pasture/facility" move out and a new group moves in. We have 34 expectant dams we are watching now. Lots of calves coming this month!

We are so excited to announce that our beef is now featured in two dishes on the menu of The RailYard in downtown Decatur, AL! I can attest that the "The Lonesome Cowboy" is amazing (and more than you can finish in one sitting) and Tiffany Whittier Whitesell reported that the meatloaf was pretty awesome as well!

Stop by and support The RailYard and their commitment to local products!

I just have to share this picture of an absurdly cute pair. This is a picture sent to us from Red Briar Highlands (www.redbriarhighlands.com). It is a cross between a Highland cow and our B113 Wagyu bull.

We are proud to have them as a partner who is using our genetics and can't wait for an update on the results.

Hello area Wagyu Fans!

Have you ever considered getting a side of beef?!?

We have several sides of beef available this fall. There is an F2 (75%) Wagyu side in mid-September; and two F1 (50%) Wagyu sides and one F2 (75%) side in mid-November.

Ordering a side of beef puts you in complete control of how it is processed and packaged - working through the specifications on your preferred cuts is fun - and there is no more cost effective way to get a freezer full of great beef!

For more information on these sides, please visit the Available Supply section of our website at: www.whitesellfarms.com

Thank you for your continued support of our retail partners; Cotton Row Restaurant and Commerce Kitchen in Huntsville, and Galley and Garden in Birmingham. We are also meeting lots of new fans through subsidiary, North Alabama Wagyu, at Farmers Markets including The Market at Pepper Place in Birmingham and the Madison City Farmers Market in Madison. These sides of beef are the same quality you'll find through any of these other channels.

Contact us through the website or message us through Facebook for more information and a detailed price breakdown.

Just to let our followers know ... we dropped off a new delivery of some of the best looking Wagyu beef we've ever finished for Cotton Row Restaurant this afternoon. The ribeyes were so beautiful that I didn't want to leave them!

I expect they will have our beef available over the holiday weekend. Be sure to ask for it when you are in there. It can also be found at other Chef Boyce properties including Commerce Kitchen in Huntsville and Galley & Garden in Birmingham. Our hamburger is always on the menu, and other cuts make special appearances when available.

We have some great news to announce!

As of July, we are now participating in two local Farmer's Markets under the operating name of North Alabama Wagyu. We came to an agreement with the previous owner (who wanted to focus more on his active family) and acquired his livestock, equipment, etc. as a way to jump start our efforts.

Please "like" and follow the North Alabama Wagyu page to keep up to date with when and where we will be as we get started on this new adventure.

Our website is still the best source for general information on our operation including what sides of beef are available in the future.

It has been an interesting weekend ... on Saturday we were hit by strong storms that destroyed one of our barn and severely damaged another. The whole community was hit hard with numerous trees down. Thankfully, no loss of life or even injuries reported - things can be replaced, lives are what is important!

Our cattle weathered the storm as well and we are cleaning up, patching fences, stabilizing structures, and planning for what is next.

We are really enjoying spring on the farm - arriving a little early is a bonus!

I have to share this picture. We call this "baby sitting". Notice the full sized cow on the far left. She was (by herself) watching over every single calf in our 'birthing' pasture. The other mommas were all 100 yards or more away in the shade of the woods. We see this a lot, but not usually with EVERY calf. They were mostly lying down when I pulled up but I couldn't get the camera out fast enough.
