We’ll never be able to compete with The Creative Wedge on gift wrapping, but we will offer 4 gift bag sizes to choose from. We decided it would be cute to tweak the colors for the holidays. Just ordered the little oval stickers for the kraft bags. These are good projects while I recline in bed recovering.

Thank you Seafield Farm for the giant bags of fresh vegetables! 🫜🥬🌶️🫜 if you’re like me and not a fan of beets they can be frozen to drop into smoothies and I don’t mind them in carrot juice either.

💖 The outpouring of love and support since my Rise To Shine post has completely blown me away. Thank you for all of the things you have done for Chris and I, the gifts, the prayers, the words of encouragement and funny stories as well as advice shared by folks who have gone through this themselves. It is reeeeeaaaalllly hard to accept help when you are used to being an independent cheese lady. But I actually haven’t had to ask anyone for anything as it has been given freely and generously.
💖 Thank you.

I may have hit a bump in the road these last few weeks but not enough to stop us from getting ready for the 2nd Annual Giving Paw!!!

Life Is Gouda 757, Melissa Smith and 2Beaches Studio will be the drop off points again and this year’s recipients will be Hope for Life Rescue, Virginia Beach SPCA and Portsmouth Humane Society.
🐾
Last year was a HUGE success so much so that I nearly ran out of room to store everything, so this year we chose close to home so we can make drop offs as we collect.

We had already decided to not go to East Beach Farmers Market, Ocean View, Norfolk, VA this week but in case you were going…💨💨💨🌧️🌧️🌧️☹️☹️☹️
We are SO SORRY to have to cancel again, but the weather just isn’t cooperating. Our farmers and vendors need your support more than ever. Please consider shopping at the nearby Riffle Farms Market & Co-op, where many vendors’ goods are carried, including Life Is Gouda cheese spreads and chow chow.
OBFM at the oceanfront IS a go and even though we are skipping it you can swing by the shop 10-4.

☀️ Rise To Shine was created for a friend in need some time ago. Now it’s my turn to lean into the messages of hope this print is meant to convey.
☀️ I left the hospital with the diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon cancer. For a person who was feeling perfectly healthy until September 28th this completely knocked me down, but I know I can rise again.
☀️ Trying to summarize all this into an IG post is unrealistic but I needed to let everyone know what is really going on. ☀️ Things to know: I will not go down without giving it my all. Surgery is done, port is in place and just waiting for surgeons to clear me for treatments. Our friends are feeding us. I refuse for my business be affected by this negatively and we will continue to be a part of our community with your help and support. We do need a sustained uptick in foot traffic at the shop as obviously the overhead is high and I need to pay my helpers. Who I should add are kicking butt without me. Please remember the shop is much more than cheese so stop by and check it out for yourself.
☀️ It is humbling to bare my soul here but A: I need your support and B: I need your continued prayers. I give any and all permission to share my full name to your prayer and distant healing groups.
☀️ I love my family, friends and community and I will be working towards recovery as hard as I possibly can. I will still identify as The Cheese Lady, or the Cheese Pimp, cancer can’t take that away from me. I shall work to remain positive in the here and now because wallowing in the what if’s is just wasted time. And as I already stated I am not labeling this as a challenge or a crisis that’s just adding fuel to the fire with negativity, so it’s Adventures in Healthcare.
☀️ That’s it for today. 🙏 thank you for reading this far.
