The Beginning

Hey guys! I just wanted to take the time to give anyone interested a little background of myself and the purpose of this page. As some of you may know, I have been uploading recipes and clips of myself cooking to my personal Instagram and Facebook accounts for a little over a year now. The positive feedback I’ve received from those videos has been unexpected and inspiring. I thank those who have contributed to my growth, as every message I’ve received has led me to this point. This page is the next step in my food journey.

My name is Heidi Gift Hessefort. I am a Hampton Roads native of Filipino, Spanish and German descent. I started cooking when I was 8 years old and was taught by my mother, whom I credit for sparking my interest in all things food related. She was always in the kitchen, making Filipino food, Mexican food, American food, Italian, Indian, you name it and she mastered it. The majority of recipes I utilize today are ones that were passed down to her, and then passed down to myself. She taught me the joy it brings when you express your love for others through cooking for them, and that has stayed with me.

My ultimate goal is to take this passion and turn it into something I can expand. I would love to reach as many people as possible through my cooking, and I wish to do that through this page, IGTV, YouTube and maybe even a food truck one day! For now, it’s all about the baby steps and enjoying the ride. Thanks for taking the time to read this and for supporting my page. I appreciate every single one of you.
