🍓🍓Perk up your outdoor meals with a Two Berry Picnic Salad! This fresh, bright, savory salad features strawberries, wheatberries and goat cheese.

Pro Tip: If you’re bringing this salad to a picnic or serving at an outdoor event, pack the crumbled goat cheese and strawberries in separate containers from the salad and sprinkle on just before serving. This salad makes a wonderful side for grilled chicken or fish.

💚Let's hear it for Vernon Trails, the co-op's Give Where You Live (GWYL) recipient for June!🚲☀

In June, co-op shoppers can round up at the registers to support Vernon Trails in its mission to expand access and build community in the Driftless Region.

About Vernon Trails:

Vernon Trails is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to building and maintaining multi-use trails and supporting human-powered recreation throughout the Driftless. If you have hiked, biked or played disc golf in the area, chances are, you have experienced the work of Vernon Trails. Find trail maps and more at: https://vernontrails.com/

GWYL is Viroqua Food Co-op's community giving program. Each fall, local schools and non-profits are nominated and voted on by co-op member-owners for next year's line-up. Each recipient receives a donation made up of register round-ups, the co-op's 1% donation of third Wednesday sales, and cash collected at the register during their designated month. Through the generous support of co-op owners and shoppers, we donated over $46,000 to local non-profits through GWYL in FY2025.

🍍🌴☀Grill something delicious with ingredients from the co-op! These Spicy Pineapple Chicken Kabobs feature a pineapple-coconut milk marinade that serves double duty as a tenderizer and, once cooked down, as a rich, spicy sauce to drizzle over the grilled kebabs. A platter of jasmine or basmati rice studded with shredded coconut and just a dash of curry powder is a great base for the sweet and slightly spicy skewers. They're a delicious main dish and also a tasty appetizer, served with a chilled, fruity Sauvignon Blanc or Viognier.
