Mizuho went to the Redbull Bowl Rippers contest at the legendary Marseille, France bowl on the beach, which had received a bunch of upgrades and a new coat of paint.

This bowl has been there since the early 90’s when T-Mag and a few of the H-Street team did the grand opening demo there, covered in one of the old video’s, Next Generation.

So in spite of the bowl being more than twice as old as Mizuho, she was able to score a Silver medal with some amazing skating that is basically her standard. Huge congrats to her again and she has now won a whopping 50 medals in high level competitions around the world, with exactly half being Gold! This is one of the most impressive competition records we are aware of!

She’s back in Japan now and with some luck, she’ll be back in California later this year.

Huge congrats to both Mizuho Hasegawa and Shuka Kawai for both getting on the podium at Tony Hawks Vert Alert in Salt Lake City.

Mizuho was just getting done with her Three-Peat victory at the Rockstar Portland Open and scored another Gold Medal on Hawk’s vert ramp in a commanding style. She qualified first, she ended first and skated with power, poise, style and technical tricks that are just unbelievable! And she ended up with another victory lap, although it didn’t look like that was announced, so we’re not sure if she knew that dropping in for her last run of the day.

Shuka came out swinging with super technical 540 and varial lines and on her last run, she made a 720 super clean and looked so surprised and stoked that it’s possible it was the first one ever! In either case, she got third, which is an incredible achievement.

Mizuho is off to France and the Marseilles bowl competition next week, then back to Japan. This young ripper from Japan has taken girls park, bowl and vert skating to a whole new level and we could not be more stoked for her!

The Portland video that T-Mag shot and edited is almost ready, so stand by for more Mizuho mayhem shortly.

Mizuho and Keefer went to Tony Hawk Vert Alert in Salt Lake City. On the way to the airport, we stopped by the Vista City Hall exhibit on Vista’s vast skateboarding history, where we had some of our OG 80’s team re-issue decks on display, along with some classic photos.

Since they both live, skate and train in Vista, while in the USA, they are both part of this display, with Mizuho receiving her corner display that features the “Hidden Cat” graphic that she designed herself, with a little help from T-Mag and Mark Kowalchuk, along with some awesome photos shot over the last few years. The board on the right is also the one she rode to win Gold at the World Skate contest in Rome earlier this year.

We’re super thankful to the City of Vista for this recognition and if you’d like to visit the exhibition, it’s still on display for another week or so. Then they will try to come up with a more permanent museum style location for all the great stuff and legendary riders that has come out of Vista and if this was not common knowledge, H-Street is most definitely one of them. As stated in one of our classic 80’s video’s, Vista Still Rips!!

Both Mizuho and Keefer are two of the most talented and impressive young skaters we’ve come across perhaps since the days of Danny Way! If you’re in SLC, UT, go check out the event, you’ll be super stoked to see them skate live and if not, tune in on THVERTALERT.com. It’s usually one of the most awesome contests of the year and this year should be no different.

These are three of the best skaters in the world, hanging out at Rockstar Open in Portland Oregon after the contest was over.

In the end, Mizuho became the Three-Peat Champion in the Girls Bowl contest, Keefer took a very impressive 4th in the bowl and JD was damn near to making the finals and put down some incredibly impressive bowl skating, so we can all except much more from where that came from!

All three skate with power, poise, control and so much talent, it’s almost not believable! They all have a totally different style and approach to skateboarding. They come from three different countries; Mizuho from Japan, Keefer from Australia and JD is from California, with deep roots in Hawaii.

All three will be at the Tony Hawk Vert Alert contest in Salt Lake City this weekend for what should be an epic vert battle! Check that out on YT or other streaming links.

And for a cliffhanger and total tease non-announcement, stand by for some awesome news on JD Sanchez, we’re gonna show you something totally super cool this week or next!

Mizuho just scored a super impressive three-peat victory in Portland, Oregon at the Rockstar Open!

She came in hot with a well constructed line, qualified first and ended up several points ahead of the upcoming and talented Mazel Paris and fellow Japanese ripper Asihi Kaihara.

Words cannot describe the finer nuances of Mizuho’s approach to skating a contest but it is a rare and extraordinary talent the 15yo from a small mountain town in Japan has.

After the girl’s bowl contest, they did a best trick cash grab contest for both girls and guys and it was a heavy snake session, pure chaos and skateboarding mayhem. Mizuho managed to get a bunch of runs in and collected quite the stash after a number of crazy dashes into the bowl. T-Mag was on hand to shoot video, stand by for this edit.

Today, Keefer Wilson will be in the Men’s Finals, we will report back what happens but what is certain is that Keefer is also ripping and Mag has the video clips to show.

Mizuho and Keefer are off to Tony Hawks Vert Alert next weekend.

Mizuho Hasegawa is a 15yo skatergirl from Japan and has just won the X Games MVP award, after taking home Gold in Vert, Silver in Park and Bronze in Vert Best Trick at the X Games finals in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She is a skater with an incredible amount talent, poise, power, confidence and competition dominance that one can only marvel at!

X Games is using a city Team Format that is modeled after more traditional sports and it’s a competition between four cities; Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York and Sau Paulo. It includes all the traditional action sports and Mizuho has earned more points for Team Tokyo than any other athlete from all the different sports for their teams, making her the very first X Games League MVP (Most Valuable Player).

She is returning to California for a couple of weeks and will be getting ready to defend her two Rockstar Open titles in Portland OR next month, then off to Utah for Tony Hawks Vert Alert.

Bobby Schaub shot this portrait of her at her home skatepark Chichibus in Japan earlier this month, when we had a fun H-Street demo day there to celebrate her incredible achievements already for the year. We think the photo tells it all; if you stand in competition with this young ripper, you better bring all you got!

15yo old  phenom skater MIZUHO HASEGWA went to New Orleans for the X Games finals and scored another Gold Medal on the vert ramp!

This time, she fell on the first two runs and in a stunning comeback, nailed her third and last run perfectly!

X Games is having a couple of more events, so we excitedly await to see what shiny hardware she’ll be carting back to California! Stay tuned on kick.com and maybe YT for all the action.

In addition, Monster Energy announced her as the newest member of their elite team of athlete riders, so this has been an amazing weekend for this young ripper from Japan!

She got to hold up her Gold Medal and Gold foil special edition of her own designed “Hidden Cat” graphic.
