For Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we're proud to feature our founder and CEO Masa Higashida.
He moved to the US in 2014, to start NuZee.He had a dream of creating a public company in the US. He accomplished his dream in 2020 when we listed on Nasdaq.
Single-serve pour-overs are a very popular format and coffee brewing method in Japan. He knew that he can bring innovation to the coffee category in the US by introducing this brewing method. The journey still continues, trying to make US coffee drinkers happy with a great-tasting cup of coffee, with single-serve pour-overs and coffee brew bags.

This month, we are going to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with you all. Our company is deeply connected with Asia and the Pacific Islands so we want to kick off the month by telling a bit about our roots.
NuZee started as a bottled water brand from New Zealand. Our founder is Japanese and our current products are from Japan.
Bottled water is how our company started, but we have since evolved to become the coffee co-packer for both Japanese style pour-overs and coffee brew bags (tea bag style coffees) where we partner with coffee companies of all sizes to help them develop and manufacture pour overs and coffee brew bags for them.
We're happy to highlight our friends Natalie and Melody, owners of Hangover Coffee for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Their first encounters with coffee pouches were during their trips to Asia. They became instant fans of their simplicity and quality. They came home from separate trips, each carrying a suitcase full of Pour Over Pouches, wondering why they were so hard to find in the States. And that was our lightbulb moment!

For Women's History Month we want to showcase . Not only is their coffee amazing, but their proceeds support local initiatives and programs. One of them being girls' education!
They have a Girls Club that launched in 2016. Itâs an after-school program for girls growing up in communities around Gorongosa National Park. The Club provides a space for girls to study and gain confidence.
The program serves 2,000 young women providing access to uniforms, school supplies, and scholarships. Anora Manuel, pictured below, is one of the girls impacted by the program. Her dream is to one day become a ranger.
As part of their education initiative, they build new schools and improve the resources available. Anora studies at the newly built Samora Machel school that has 1,000 students. These students were previously sitting on dirt floors under leaky roofs.
