Caught the sun kissing some of the last tomatoes this morning. Summer crops are fading, and our fall garden is coming along. What's growing in your garden and what's fading right now?

The freezer is full of tomatoes, peppers, blackberries and corn. The pantry is stocked with honey, blackberry jam, canned potatoes, green beans, and potatoes ready to mash or fry. There's relish and pie filling, and pepper jelly. Eggs in the fridge and still more on the counter.

The garden continues to provide. The chickens are laying and the bees are busy.

We're blessed and filled with gratitude for all that we have and everyone that drove out to purchase from us or just stopped to say "Nice garden". But, full disclosure, some days we're tired, and overwhelmed and don't feel like doing what needs doing. 🙏😩

Winter success starts in August and September. This is the window where the queen lays the eggs that will become the colony's winter cluster.Without high-protein food, those winter bees won't develop the strong immune systems and fat reserves they need to last until spring.That is why I love seeing Ironweed coat the fields this time of year.
