James (Jambo) Wade Brock, 68, gave his final How Do Everybody!!! On Oct 3, 2024. The Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather passed away in his Granbury home after a long battle with Cancer. Funeral Services celebrating his incredible life will be held at Stonewater Church in Granbury on Sunday Oct 6 at 3 pm. Anyone whose life was touched by Jambo, whether through his endless local philanthropy, business, music or just a casual conversation over a beer on ice at the Corner of wisdom, is welcome to attend.
The loss will not only be felt by family, friends, local bookies and the community that depended on him, but will in no doubt have an impact on the Hoodie and Cargo shorts industry, as well, which he was single-handedly keeping relevant. Jambo enjoyed writing and listening to music, cooking amazing food in abundance, and most of all spreading LOVE. His LOVE came in so many forms for so many people. It ranged from just a needed kind word and a Jambo hug to free food for 1,000s, hosting benefits for anyone in need and so much more. The world suffered a giant loss when Jambo went home to Heaven but we can be rest assured he will have Jesus up late turning water into wine and listening to all his favorite musicians.
James was born on June 28, 1956 in West Palm Beach to Jim and Pat Brock. Due to the humidity and its affect on his amazing curly hair the family relocated to Texas. Here on October 15, 1977 he married Janet Newman and together had two of the most amazing kids ever created, James Austin and Jae Lauren. James graduated from Richland High School and Texas Christian University. After graduation James went on to open multiple businesses in many different industries such as Good Vibrations Records, South by Southwest furniture stores, (featuring live prairie dogs in the storefront), multiple Oil and Gas companies, and his final venture Brocks Food and Drink in Acton. He will also be remembered for his service to others through his lifetime including Lions Club, Charities providing Thanksgiving to the hungry, Coats for those in need, and Christmas for 100’s of kids who would have never known what Christmas as a kid is supposed to be like if not for Jambo and his squad of good hearted heathens.
James is survived by his wife Janet: his children, James Austin and wife Taylor Brock and Jae Lauren and husband Brian Crawford; Grandchildren Riley, Cady, Brock, Luken and Layla, and by his siblings Ed and wife Cheryl Brock and Suzy and husband Mike Tabor.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
