I received a grant from KSU in 2024 to build a Coolbot for cold storage. This is for storing my orchard fruit, berries and flowers after harvesting. I originally had planned to build it in the barn that had burned so figuring out an alternative location was really tough and took a lot of planning and reorganizing to find a suitable space. The room was supposed to be 8'x8' but I didn't have a space to accomodate that size so I had to give up one foot on the width.
I was several months behind the deadline to have the build complete and this anxiety caused sleepless nights. So once the space was prepped, I sent out a text to a few people who had offered to help me re-build the barn after the fire. I had shared complete instructions from YouTube and everyone came ready to rock. It took a day and a half with this expert crew- I just need to paint and hang the door.
SOOO relieved to be able to report to KSU that I got this done!!
A huge shout-out to my family and friends for helping me get past this pain point.

Gearing up for breeding and checking them for body conditioning scores. The multi- colored one- Pralines and Cream is the smallest ewe, but since flushing, she has really picked up some weight. I’d rank all of them with a body conditioning between 3-4. They look so good and ready to breed.

I haven’t been able to get down this mountain for a week. In total, we got 8”
Of snow and it is lovely.
I’m gearing up for two events with these sheep. The females are ready to breed so I’m hoping to have a ram on this farm by the end of the month- weather and ram permitting.
The second is that I’m preparing g to slaughter my first lamb for meat sale. This will be my first lamb meat sale event.
Please let me know if you might be interested in some meat. I use organic methods for raising them, they are grass-fed, no antibiotics or other meds and raised according to animal welfare guidelines. I have no idea yet on cuts or pricing but this info will be coming soon.

I recently built this portable chicken tractor to raise my hens on pasture. I have a solar door on a timer that lets the birds out in the morning and closes after dark- super convenient. I also connected a solar aereator to keep the water from freezing. They are contained within a solar powered electro- netting portable fence from Premier 1.
The chickens scratch up the ground and break up the sheep droppings which works the nutrients into the ground around my fruit trees for fertization. Chicken droppings also provide fertilization. I also paired guinea fowl with the hens when they were keets and they are working on eliminating ticks and roost with the hens.
