You can tell whose milk you've received by the dot stickers we put on each jar.

We have five tested, A2 dairy cows in milk, but generally only sell milk from Kiwi (green dot label), Apple (red dot label) and Millie (blue dot label). The other two cows are feeding calves. Millie has a calf also, but she produces an excess and needs milked.

All of our cows are pasture fed. Millie and Kiwi are grain-free, but Apple needs some grain to maintain her condition and production. Our cows are not one-size-fits-all creatures. We provide them what they need rather than trying to force them into another category to make our products more consistent and attractive to buyers (grain-free, organic, no-soy etc).

"Farmer's choice" means we select which cow your milk comes from that day. It's always a surprise.

We can also accommodate requests for milk from specific cow. We can even skim your milk for you. There is a fee for "custom milking" and we need your request at least 24 hours in advance. Just tell us what you need and we can make a recommendation.

We have five cows in milk. We regularly test for zoonotic diseases and contagious pathogens.

We also keep a close eye on udder health. The somatic cell count, shown as SCC in the photo, measures the number of white blood cells per milliliter of milk. High numbers indicate infection, and inflammation, which lowers the shelf-life of the milk, and affects the cow's health. We watch this number closely and strive to keep our SCC count under 100. The "industry standard" is 200!

We are excited over good results and are happy to offer milk from healthy cows.

Fresh, raw butter does not look (or taste) like the stuff you purchase at the store.

The yellow color comes from beta-carotene in fresh grasses. The vibrancy can vary slightly with the seasons, and the availability of fresh grass, but it will always be yellow.

Some store brands add yellow coloring to ensure their product remains a consistent color year-round.

Pretty lady introduction. This is "Liberty Belle of Misty M Farm" (we call her Millie) and her lovely little heifer calf, "Freedom".

If your milk order is marked with a blue sticker, then Millie is the one who contributed! Unlike grocery store milk, each jar of ours is filled by ONE cow.

She is an A2, grassfed (no grain!) Jersey. Currently, she makes more milk than her calf can drink, so we leave them together 24/7 and take only the excess for ourselves.

Milk testing is a regular and important part of our lives. This is the second round of testing we've done on most of these cows since May. We appreciate the labs that help us keep our cows healthy and their milk clean.

Welcome to the prettiest cow we've ever seen! "JX Bellview Danestar Smirk", also known as "Apple".

Apple is an A2 cow. She will join Kiwi in producing that lovely Jersey cream everyone has been asking for.

Lord willing, we can fill those orders soon.

If you look closely, you will see most of our dairy herd in this photo. If you purchase milk from us, here it is, being made, in the sunshine, on a variety of native grasses we don't ever spray or fertilize.
