Everything has a purpose. Between pigs and chickens, every last bit of nutrition is recycled into nutrient dense wholesome food: eggs, bacon, pork chops, sausage and rich compost for the garden. Nothing goes to waste.

It may seem like a small thing, but it makes my heart happy to always look out the window and see the cows grazing in the pasture.

It took a lot of work to get here, and takes a lot of work to stay here, but working hard for something you love isn't a burden. Instead it builds confidence, self-respect, resilience, and stamina.

So, friends. Work your tails off at work worth doing. And stop every now and again to take stock of all you have accomplished and all you've learned. It will blow your socks off and give you the gumption to do the next hard and worthwhile thing.

It has rained hard over the last few days, so the creek is running high.

I paused in my morning hustle to get all the things done for just a minute to listen to that gurgle and rush that always soothes the soul and sit with the goodness of God and His creations.

Conclusion: 1 minute of quiet from the hustle costs nothing and yet gives SO much in return. Hey self - let's pause more often, eh?
