GIRLS TRIP 🏆🎟️
Mel, Oak and Abby took 2 heifers and 1 cow to the Iowa State Fair last week. The Koneckys have been long time exhibitors there on and off for the last 40 years.
Our homebred Winter calf was second in her class, with our fall yearling and Swiss cow being closer to the bottoms of their classes. Oak had the greatest time washing and leading and brushing her cow’s, she was such a trooper up with us most mornings real early.
A highlight was Oak competing in her very first solo showmanship contest for the novice showmanship class. Her calf knocked her down, she cried but she got back up and finished the class. She’ll tell you she got second place but we are so proud of her for being tough and finishing the class.
We tried some of the new fair foods, road the Giant Slide, took a peek at the Budweiser Clydesdales ( if oak ever gives up cows, it will be because of horses haha) and had the best time catching up with old friends.
