How exciting to see another school in a neighboring town joining the Farm to School movement! 🥩🌱

We love seeing these programs grow throughout our area! Supporting local farmers, investing in our communities, and providing students with quality, locally raised beef is a win for everyone!

As we continue growing our own Beef Booster Program, it's encouraging to see neighboring schools working toward the same goals.

Different schools, different communities, but one shared mission — feeding our kids better while supporting local agriculture!

Locally raised beef is coming to Bergan’s lunch trays! 🍽️

This October, we’re celebrating National Farm to School Month with a new partnership bringing beef raised by local 4-H youth into our school lunch program. It’s an opportunity to support area agriculture and help our students learn about the farmers, families and hard work behind their food.

Lots of hands and "love" go into make homemade pepperoni pizza pockets! Lots of flour everywhere but well worth the end result!

Then dipped into homemade fresh marinara sauce with our own school grown basil and oregano added = DELICIOUSNESS!

Just another day of bringing a little more homemade to the lunch line. 🍕👩‍🍳

🍔 Beef Booster Burger Day! 🐄🌾

What a great day! Our students enjoyed burgers made with locally sourced beef, Thank you Certified Piedmontese! The burgers were served on homemade buns made with Niobrara Grain and Milling flour. 🌾🍔

We were especially grateful to have some of our Beef Booster donors there with us, Frontier Cooperative grilled up some tasty burgers, and volunteers jumped in to help us serve.

And the best part? The Beef Booster Program isn't just about one special lunch — the support of this program helps provide quality beef for our students throughout the school year.

We’re so thankful for our Beef Boosters program and the farmers and ranchers who help make it possible! 🐄❤️

Their generosity helps provide quality beef for our students throughout the ENTIRE school year.

Tuesday is a special opportunity to celebrate the program, highlight the importance of agriculture in our community, and recognize those who work hard to help keep local beef on our students’ trays.

We’re grateful for their support—not just on this day, but ALL YEAR LONG! 🥩❤️

First attempt at homemade scratch biscuits!

🤎 There’s definitely a learning curve, but that’s half the fun. They may not be bakery-perfect, but they were made from scratch with freshly milled Turkey Red flour courtesy of Niobrara Grain and Milling —and I’m calling that a win! 🙌

Next batch will be even better! 😍

A little classroom time looks different when you take it outside. ❤️

Today these students traded their desks for the garden and got an up-close look at what we’ve been growing.

One of my favorite parts of this garden has always been watching it become more than a place to grow food. It’s becoming a place to teach, share, ask questions, and get students involved.

Days like this make all the planting, watering, weeding, and work worth it. 🌿

And this is only the beginning. ❤️🌱

Our Farm to School journey is all about growth—and today we’re celebrating a little growth of our own… 100 followers! 💯💚

Thank you to everyone who has followed along as we work toward bringing more fresh, local, and made-from-scratch food to our students. From the garden to the kitchen and everything in between, your encouragement and support mean more than you know.

Farm to School isn’t just about food. It’s about teaching kids where their food comes from, supporting our local community, trying new things, and building healthier habits that can last a lifetime. 🌽🥕🍅

We’re excited about what we’re building, and we’re so glad you’re here to watch it grow with us.

Sometimes it’s the everyday moments that tell the best story. ❤️

A busy lunchroom, kids gathered around the tables, conversations happening, and a whole lot of food being served.

Behind every tray is a lot of planning, prepping, cooking, and caring. We’re working hard to make school lunch something our students can enjoy while continuing to bring in more fresh foods, homemade meals, and Farm to School ingredients.

It may look like “just lunch”... but to us, it’s a chance every single day to feed our kids well.

And that makes all the work worth it.
