There’s a major shortage of Hawaiian cacao. That’s a good problem because it means it’s in high-demand, and creates more and more incentive to put trees in the ground.
Which is exactly what we’ve been doing here in the town of Waimānalo (about 10 minutes from our factory). As the saying goes, “the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” In the case of cacao it couldn’t be more true as these trees won’t be producing fruit for many years to come.
It’s a patience game, but we’re in it for the long-haul!
