Check out the snazzy chick πŸ₯ brooder Mr Handy & Handsome constructed. 130ish baby chicks happily eating, chirping - and ducking under the warming plates to warm up. This will be their home for about 3 weeks when they will moved out to the pasture.

Busy Mama! πŸ‘

Finally had a chance to take a walkabout before it was totally dark (chores seem to always be done in the dark this time of year). The snow cover gave the opportunity to see evidence of the other creatures with which we share our home. Some easy to identify- the deer and rabbits, others not so much. Was that a bobcat walking along the frozen edge of the creek? We see them on the trail cams periodically. And what about these tiny tracks? No cougar tracks this time, but I never forget they are here as well.

We need some cold weather. We need some cold weather. It’ll help kill off some bugs. We need some cold weather. We need some cold weather. Repeating just to remind myself. πŸ˜‚. Thankful for Eskimo hats, frost-free water hydrants, toasty wood stoves, and that most creatures aren’t as stupid as lambs. Thank goodness they are delicious IFYKYK
