Spring has sprung and I suddenly find myself with an extra-long list of things to do both inside my Home and out.

Unplugging from the online spaces with the exception of Substack to allow myself to dump if need be.

Until my to-do lists have been hacked down considerably--do have an amazing Spring and ✨C R E A T E✨ something new!

What you see is curated, edited, planned, and synthetic.
Likes, dings, suggested, scrolling.

Know that these spaces are designed to keep you addicted and see people in electronic boxes as entertainment.
It dehumanizes.
Creates a hum and undercurrent of anxiety, depression, looping thoughts, animosity, and despair.

It causes you to compare and crave and envy.
It steals your contentment and gratitude for what you have and how far you've come.
It sucks hours and hours away from creating and improving and learning and healing.
It creates addictions to shopping, gaming, gambling, po*******hy, and dwindles your bank account and resolve.
It steals from your in-real-life human relationships where you could be investing time sitting in the same room instead of a synthetic like or a heart.
It creates spaces to snap judge.
To say hurtful and hateful things without consequence.
It allows bullying in adults and children alike.
It feeds you agendas from people at the top who use us as cattle.

Take the creation back.
Turn it off.
Breathe in deep.
Sit in quiet.
Create "art" in real life.

Love on your Home.
Write a note of encouragement to someone you know is struggling.
Make a meal from scratch.
Read a classic novel printed on paper.
Sign up for a class.
Learn something new.
Take a walk in the rain.
Visit a library.
Think those hard thoughts--not numb them out.
Tell someone you're sorry.
Call someone for help.

And most importantly...
Detox, break the scroll cycles, schedule a time to •feel• again, and UNPLUG.

Social media accounts like this one are just a little thumbtack in the online world.

Life is lifing with three kiddos and a life full of new things living in the country.

I can't see spending the time to put together sound and editing reels and posing and setting up a mini movie of everything.

Yet.

I'm waiting for the green light from The Big Guy--and then it's on!

When that light IS blaring green--you better believe that a main part of my messaging is staying rooted IN YOUR REAL LIFE and to really take a good look at how much time you pour into your screens while creative moments pass you by.
I will never let go of my Gen X-Gen Y love of how simple and amazing life was before allofthis.

My mantra:
If you're not creating--you're consuming.

Which one are you picking?

But until that green light day--
Enjoy the spring slowly peeping out from the earth and sky. 🤎

Next Venture for our Homestead:
The environmentally-friendly, low-input, “Just Leah can do it all” MEAT RABBIT!
✨✨✨
After sifting through a bunch of recipes—I made up my own while this was in brine for 1.5 days.

After 2.5 hours—this*A la Leah* version of butter/avocado oil browned, slow-roasted rabbit—with garlic, onion, shallot, rosemary, parsley, cherry tomatoes, and button mushrooms…
IT WAS SOOO GOOD!
And that broth 🤌🤤

We officially have the taste-blessing-approval from all 3 kids. The last three years has been me slowly phasing out of things that do not serve myself or my family well and that is also what we grow or what we raise.

Working with rabbit in my kitchen means I can phase out raising so many stinky, poopy, mutant Cornish cross chickens. The last batch was the grossest yet and almost did me in. 🤢

I also need a protein input that is sustainable and I alone can take on from beginning to end.
No trailers.
No tusks that bite through boots.
No hooves to trim.
Not as many feathers to pluck.

The meat is so similar with just a tweak in the way you cook it and it takes on whatever spices and influence you put into your dishes.

I’m so looking forward to all the ways that I can explore our new adventure—both outside and in the oven!

I’ve been working on something behind the scenes for a little while now as I rework the acreage here at Home.

I decided that after wrestling pigs and Nubian goats, and after realizing that projects here are going to fall mostly on my shoulders—that meat rabbits for meat and pelts are going to be my next venture.

So many full circle moments on landing back at the rabbit and will share the funny connections along the way— but my daughter and I will be adventuring in this project together as she joins 4H for the first time.
No heavy machinery.
No poop-covered carcasses.
No tusk-filled mouths that can pierce a boot.
No hooves to trim or testicles to cut.

Just the highest yield in protein turnover with the smallest input.
With meat as versatile as chicken.
Clean. Quiet. Simple.

We are arriving at the Champagne d’Argent rabbit breed.

So much more to come.
Rabbitry building this weekend.

Monday:
The picking back up of a health mantle that I have been journeying on.
Mind.
Body.
Spirit.
Soul.

Inside and out.
Down to the cell.

Since Thanksgiving, I have set aside the time of discipline and concentration to keep up new habits, and now must continue the slow and steady race to my wellness goals.

Allowing more processed food, eating out, libations, late bedtime, no exercise, the lack of my herb and bio supplementation, the lack of fermented food…
At 48 years old, it is definitely something I can feel in my old server/bartender aches and pains.
My sleep has suffered.
The scale has crept up.
Inflammation in my joints and puffiness in my face tell me that I had it right before I set this down.
It’s been a great learning experience— but now it’s time to continue with the marking of 2026 to pick it back up.

• My herb and bio drawer is ready to go for a quick grabs by the coffee maker and protein powder station.
• Fasting regiment in order.
• Milk Kiefer has been fed.
• Yogurt starter thawing to make a fresh gallon batch in the instantpot.
• Teas are blended & ready to replace my nighttime bedtime ritual.
• Meal plan ready to make from-scratch food between the sports practices, karate, classes, and basketball games.
• Our big family gift of a new sauna is ready to sweat and detox.
• Prayer and Bible devotional plans are ready to go for morning time with my AbbaFatherMaker.
• Workout regiment is posted and ready to go.

Ready.
Ready and excited to feel the quiet and pure energy that comes with taking care of my temple.

I put my body through a lot of abuse in my 20s and early 30s. FrankIy—I am blessed that I have not had any repercussions of that thus far—so I can and do everything I can to reverse some of that angst-filled wear & tear while I was searching for answers of the brokenness of my past.

The way to love that Little Girl Forgotten Daughter that was chasing trauma wiring STARTS with loving myself because my Creator loved me enough to give His Body to cure my spiritual ailments.
Here’s to continuing to love my temple in all the ways.

Spring dreaming. 🌿

The end of my second summer not gardening is coming to a close. What a wild and incredible journey I have been on these last few years and the layers and layers of healing of my little girl soul. It all started in 2018 when I moved to 17 acres and threw myself in to every farming/Homestead project I...

For a few years now, I have had the push to stop using social media platforms because of their ridiculous nature to keep people from authentically connecting and instead play silly games with the algorithms.

I’m finally going to utilize Substack and all the amazing features to be able to blog, podcast, etc.
So exciting that the Renaissance of the blog is starting to happen because there are actually quite a few people who are tired of the endless scrolling.
