I AM AN ARTIST!
I'm proclaiming that to the world because, for so long, I downplayed my works. I would put them down myself before anyone else could. I lacked faith in myself. I had (and still have) a touch of impostor syndrome.
For example; If someone would compliment something I created, my response would be something like this... "Thank you, I'm no artist, but I did my best." Seems somewhat harmless. Yet, that statement, is me verbalizing that I didnt think of myself as an artist. Compound that statement over years and years, and what happened?
I had convinced myself that I wasn't and artist. But, I am!!!!
Everything I have ever done has had some form of art incorporated into it. From a small child painting ceramics at my grandmothers shop, to cooking, refinishing furniture, creating a home, designing and growing my elclectic beautiful gardens, creating displays, painting, restorations, and now drawing. It has played a significant role throughout my entire life.
It's still astonishing to me that it took me 42 years to start to draw. A friendly reminder that it's never to late to start something new. 🎨🎨🎨
