Occasionally farming really keeps us on our toes. So yesterday I got home from life outside the farm to have my kids frantically running up to me to tell me that there was an owl in the chicken netting.

So we ran over to find Len trying to cut him out.

After about 15 minutes or so and many cuts to the chicken netting: Mr Owl was released into Lens sweatshirt and relocated to the excavator tracks and set free. There was no visible cuts or broken bones.

Later Len went back to see Mr Owl was gone and off to (hopefully) some mice and small rodent captures and dinners.

Life on a farm is never dull and while we try to protect our animals we also care very deeply for the wildlife from time to time.

So this was today so far: up at 4:45am to feed animals, load 2 cows in the trailer and 2 kids and 2 coolers and a snack bag in the truck with 2 adults and off to Cobleskill.

Dropped off the 2 cows for butcher and went to the Dutchess County Fair.

We always try to fit in family time between farming ❤️❤️❤️

But seeing Big D with the trailer in the parking lot was soo funny!!!
