M'egg's

Welcome, Bishop or "The Bishop" as I like to call him!

We quickly needed to say "goodbye" to Rusty and try to fill a new rooster position because the hens immediately began their own job hunt within the pecking order and it wasn't pretty 🙃. He's been a decent boy so far so hopefully he continues to work out!

Fresh eggs available! $4/doz or $3/returned carton dozen 🐓

They say a good rooster is worth its weight in gold. And it's true. Rusty Boy was our second rooster but our family's favorite & my favorite coworker. Great with children but fierce with weasels and soaring hawks. He also was always finding food for the girls, helping them make nests and even feeding his own baby chicks last summer. Rusty passed away over the weekend from a hawk attack. We will miss him dearly 🐓

What are some of your favorite recipes to bake in the summer?! Ours is anything with that dynamic dou of sun-sweet strawberries and tangy rhubarb stalks. We even enjoy baking a variety of desserts and jams with them to freeze. Then we can easily enjoy them on a cozy Christmas eve or a mid-winter blah treat. Local ingredients are in abundance this time of year and mixing them all together in your favorite recipe gives you the freshest (and healthiest!) results! Happy Summer 🌞 ⛱️🍓

Awe!!! Our baby sex-links are currently transitioning from chicks to pullets. They are learning how to integrate themselves into the flock and free range! Out of the breeds I have raised so far, this breed seems to be the friendliest.
I chose this breed during my spring orders because from high up in the sky, they resemble ravens. Ravens and hawks have a notorious relationship of not getting along. Ravens will chase hawks off from an area, thus reducing chicken/bird of prey conflict in our yard.

Lots of eggs available!
