Let’s talk about heat tolerance.
94 degrees on May 31. Not a lick of shade in sight. These females and their calves haven’t missed a lick. Out in it all day grazing and ruminating.
I mowed the yard, went in to cool off, fed the horses, cooled off again, and then did some bush hogging. Had to cool off again. They never stopped grazing and resting in the full sun.
We raise Brangus thick and slick, fertile and correct. Genetic selection ensures that. But the heat and disease tolerance of the Brangus breed never ceases to amaze me.
