Why do I have an opinion about the “Cornell 7?” I’m a graduate of Cornell. The “Gorges” in my business name is a nod to the “Ithaca is Gorges” tagline. I have placed high value on my education and experiences there.

As a thinking human, the news coming out is horrific. I don’t know a single woman who has never been sexually harassed and I know far too many who have been assaulted.

As a student 35 years ago, I tried to make the campus a safer place. Today, the only thing I can think to do is stand up and say, “ I believe you.”

Not to be trite, but remember “see something, say something?” If we can’t be watching out for each other, what kind of society is this?

Until demand grows, fresh bread and milk will only be available on Saturdays.

A tale of two calves.

Sprite was born to Dorrie, daughter of Dulcie, granddaughter of Darla, the Spokescow. This line of cows has had the sweetest disposition and best mothering instincts of all our cows. One time, Dulcie was a willing nurse cow to three calves.

Eclipse was born to Trixie, daughter of Mabel who joined the herd 5 years ago and is the herd bully.

This is Trixie’s second calf but this time she has been completely neglectful and we made the decision to try Dorrie out as a nurse cow.

First we put Eclipse in with Sprite for the day while the cows were out grazing. In the evening when the cows came in for milking, we let Dorrie into the pen and each calf picked a side and started suckling. Dorrie took turns licking each of them… and just like that we had a happy
