Today marks five years I’ve been married to the love of my life. This is a milestone I am truly grateful. I’ve never seen a marriage or a relationship that resembles my marriage…

Although, I used to work with a guy who would come into work every day with a smile on his face and dressed to the nines every single day! I remember asking him why he always came to work so happy and dressed so sharp. He looked at me with great conviction and said, “My wife, man! She does it all, and she puts these suits together for me! It’s all her.” He was so deep in love with her, she could do no wrong based on how he described her. He would say, “I can’t wait to get home to my wife! No stress, no drama, just love and more importantly, PEACE!” I said, that s**t doesn’t exist! Thing is, when shared how he felt about his wife, I believed him. That made all the difference in the world. I was happy for him but that told me there was a very slim chance I could find a woman like that for myself…

Took me 10 years with many failures since having that discussion. But I found her and I’ll be damned…It makes me feel so good to be loved like this. My wife is everything imaginable and so much more and I am a better man because of her! I will continue to love, honor, protect, respect, and provide for her until my dying day and even after that. I’ve always believed she deserved to be loved properly. I appreciate her so much more than words can express. I couldn’t live without her! A real husband will always honor his wife! No excuses!

I’m sharing this for anyone still hoping, wondering, and believing they can find true love. I’m sharing this because Bernard shared his testimony with me when I didn’t believe I could have it all and because the rest of the world told me I couldn’t. And now I’m here sharing this story.

Finding love is not as difficult as people make it but it starts with being honest with yourself so you can be honest about your future! Happy 5th Anniversary and God bless the day MY WIFE, Vontrese (Big V, not the little one) was born!

When you think about your entire existence… the two people you are here in this world because of… and know that not only are they gone, but that they both died 7 months from each other, not even a full year has passed! There’s no way to sugarcoat it! It’s FU**ED up! Life isn’t fair that’s for sure and I know that better than anyone! I am praying every single day for a better day and for healing for my trauma, for my mind to be healed! My story ain’t like anyones! NOBODY can relate to me and that’s just facts! I still have life in me and I have a wife and kids who love me but often times I don’t know if it’s enough! I deserve more than what I have gotten in 45 years! So much more! What is life when you have given your all but people who are supposed to love you, care for you, be by your side, and protect you treat you like you don’t exist?! I don’t wish this pain or heartbreak on anyone! You may think you know me, but you know nothing at all! This is just an outlet! An escape from reality! This is as positive as I’m going to be, the truth is too real! God, if you coming, I been ready!

I always knew it was something very different and special about my CALIFORNIA (with the BIG C, not the little one) GOLD BBQ sauce, and this just confirmed it! While I didn’t get first, I am still super proud of this ranking, going up against some dawgs! All I needed was one judge not to hate on me, and I could have been first! 😂 All good though, we still comin’! And 63rd out of 158 for our Original Point Loma BBQ sauce was awesome too, with Sweet Malibu not far behind that at 84th out of 158 in the Mild Sauce category! Again, competition had some heavy hitters! This was the damn World Series of Barbecue Sauce Contest!!!

We even placed pretty well in the Mild Rubs category… 49th out of 248 entries with our Big Bear BBQ Rub and 59th out of 248 with our Calabasas Steak Seasoning! 🤌🏾 Again, I’m super proud because I went up against some of the best in the business and a few I like personally, and most importantly, we did it all naturally! 🙌🏾 NOTHING artificial or bioengineered, and that’s saying something! Super appreciative and inspired! We will continue to put the work in. And always remember, always remember these powerful words from one of the greatest race car drivers that ever lived, “If you ain’t first, you’re last” -Ricky Bobby

One of the greatest, most memorable, and scariest days of my life was the day my baby Niya was born… but it was a challenge I happily accepted and I am so proud to be her Dad! Today is the day she was born and I get goosebumps just thinking of her! I hope she always remembers how I feel about her and the great lengths I will go to give her happiness and protection! What a diamond! Happy Birthday to my wildflower, Niya Leigh Simpson!🩷

Proud Dad moment and one thing to finally make me smile after so much loss! 🥹So proud of my 16-year-old son! What an amazing experience to be his dad! He’s the smartest kid I know, and he’s going places and reaching realms I could never reach! Does he give me a run for my money and drive me up the wall?! Yes!!But I wouldn’t trade him for anything! He challenges me to be a better man and a better father every day! We owe our kids everything, and every single thing I do in life is for my family! Nothing will ever change that! Warren, I got you forever, my boy, and I love you to life, Son.
