Monroe St

9-1pm

For those who may not already know us, we are Alex and Dan - chefs turned flower farmers growing florist quality flowers in Waldorf, MD for the people of DC/MD/VA.

We grow specialty flowers with lots of love (but never any chemical pesticides or sprays) because we believe in protecting and supporting the wild life in and around our farm while growing our beautiful blooms for you!

We sell at mixed bouquets at 3 DC area markets along with offering our take on a CSA style bouquet subscription - called QBR Stem Shares.

We also offer specialty orders of flowers throughout the seasons for weddings, pop ups and corporate events along with offering unique workshops that merge our loves of food, flowers and hospitality throughout the year.

If you want to stay in the know about the day to day of our farm, flowers, workshops and beyond - head to the link in our bio to sign up for our weekly newsletter “Notes From the Ridge”

May feels like a blip already but here we are in June and already thinking ahead about fall and next year!

2. The fields have been filling out with lots of fall planted beauties like this stunning dianthus in the first image.
3. We experimented in late winter with using our spent tulip soil from Valentine’s tulips to start rooting dahlias for the late spring planting. These bebes are basically in their late teens now and ready to get out in the field!
4. Our no-till tulip beds being flipped for fall mums. The compost used in these (along with the tulip bulbs) are being tossed into our meadow to provide as a base for seeding a meadow planting.
5. Our prepped windbreak area (complete with tulip compost) ready for getting ready for pollinator seeding, shrubs and trees!
6. Loving our specialty sunflowers and these classic yellow and blue combos!
7. Neighbors are the worst when they drop by uninvited! (Just kidding - this little guy can hang with us anytime)
8. Car full of carpinus trees for our meadow windbreak.
9. Last lisianthus planting views from the field

And…. We are looking to add to team QBR!

Are you flower or farming curious, live near (or can easily drive to) Waldorf and like early mornings with the songbirds and pollinators?

We are looking for curious, nature loving people who want to join our team. No former floristry or farming experience required! Just a willingness to be flexible with Mother Nature and the great outdoors for a shift along with a desire to learn and grow!

Head to the link in bio where you’ll find job descriptions along with an application form!

We are sorry to say that due to the HOT HOT HOT temps we will not be attending market tomorrow.

We are still offering up lots of beautiful delicate spring blooms (like peonies) which cannot handle the hot weather.

Sitting outside in temperatures like these severely diminishes their vase life so we will be missing our City Center flower friends again this week. We are so sorry! We plan to be back next week !!!

But we will be to our usual Saturday schedule with the LAST of our seedlings this weekend.

These plant babies need to get into your gardens or patio pots this weekend…or else they get planted at the farm next week!

So if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on specialty lisianthus or a few last celosia for the garden then this is your last week to do so!

See you Saturday! Stay cool out there!

As such, we will NOT be tomorrow, Tuesday 5/12 because we need to give the field a few days to replenish after the Mother’s Day madness.
