Nothing says “Christmas tree farmer” quite like being forced to pull w**ds!

He’ll plant thousands of trees, but ask him to pull a w**d and suddenly he’s got somewhere else to be. 🌱🤣

There are days when all the hard work feels especially worth it… and today was one of those days. ❤️

Papaw and Donna spent some time walking our very first section of Christmas trees, counting each one that will be ready for families to choose during our 2027 opening season.

The final count? 340 beautiful trees! 🌲

It’s amazing to think that these little trees we’ve cared for over the past several years will soon become the center of so many Christmas celebrations. From decorating with the kids to gathering around on Christmas morning, we’re honored that our trees will be part of those memories.

We’re also excited because there’s even more happening around the farm!

✨ Our road sign is on its way.
⚡ Electricity will be installed soon.
🎁 And we have one more exciting surprise that we can’t wait to share with you within the next month!

This week we had the opportunity to attend the MACT & Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association (CTGA) Summer Meeting, and it was an incredible experience!

We spent the day learning from experienced growers, touring beautiful tree farms, and connecting with others who share the same passion for growing quality Christmas trees and creating meaningful family traditions.

Every meeting like this helps us bring new ideas, knowledge, and inspiration back to Papaw’s Tree Farm as we continue preparing for our future opening. We’re so grateful for the friendships we’ve made and for the willingness of fellow growers to share their experience and expertise.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organize this year’s meeting and welcomed us. We left feeling encouraged and even more excited about what’s ahead for Papaw’s Tree Farm!

The countdown to opening continues, and we can’t wait to welcome your family to make Christmas memories with us in the years to come. 🎄❤️

Papaw has been working hard at the farm this week and it’s only Tuesday!

What is papaw doing?
Papaw is trimming all the leaders on our Canaan Christmas trees 🌲

Why is papaw trimming the leaders off the trees and what is a leader?

The leader is the very top shoot of the tree—the part that grows straight up each year. If it’s left alone, it can grow too long, making the tree look thin and uneven.

We trim the leaders for multiple reasons …
1. Creates the classic Christmas tree shape
2. Controls height growth 📈
3. Encourages dense branching
4. Improves strength 💪🏼

Today, we are celebrating a very special milestone as Dylan graduates from high school!

Dylan is a valued part of our farm family, always willing to work hard and lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed. Watching him grow over the years has been a true blessing.

This day is especially meaningful for us because Dylan is also Papaw’s son, making this celebration one that our entire farm family holds close to our hearts.
