Good morning parents and guardians of Waldron School students. Yesterday I had a zoom training concerning the SUMMER EBT program.
This program gives $120 in EBT benefits per child to help provide nutritious foods for children during the summer months when school is not in session.

A few things to note:
* Benefit is $120/child
* Do not throw your card away, keep it for each coming summer as
funds will be reloaded to that card
* Once you receive your card or funds have been added to that card, you have 122 days to use those funds.
* deadline to apply for these funds is August 31st if you are not automatically approved
*funds are valid from May through August

Weather Day Make-Up Plan Update

We want to provide an update regarding the 5 ½ days of school missed last week due to inclement weather.

Our district operates on an instructional minute-based school calendar, which means each year we build in more instructional minutes than the state-required minimum. Because of that, we have “banked” minutes available that can be used when needed.

✅ Good news: We will be utilizing those banked minutes to cover the 5 ½ days missed due to weather.
📅 At this time, there are no plans to add extra days or extend the school year to make up these weather days.

If anything changes in the future, we will communicate that with families immediately — but for now, our calendar remains the same.

Thanksgiving Dinner today at Waldron Schools. Turkey Roast, homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dressing, apple crisp, cranberry sauce and homemade hot rolls. (Green beans and hot rolls not pictured)
Happy Thanksgiving to all our students and their families, our teachers and staff enjoy your break after tomorrow and we'll see you back at school on December 1st.

WHS cafeteria ladies made a special trip to the ABC/DC yesterday to speak to our babies about where their food comes from and that they are their cooks. Our babies loved it and enjoyed the visit. Thank y'all for letting us enjoy your babies for a little while. 🌮🍔🍟🔥🌶🫑🍅🥣🌽

Homecoming 2025 week at Waldron High School, today is Dynamic Duo so of course our cafeteria had to represent! We've got Taco 🌮, Chips n Spicy Salsa 🔥 🍅🫑🌶 and Burger 🍔 and Fries 🍟.

We are excited to welcome families to our Annual Grandparents’ Breakfast! ☕

📅 Date: See dates for each grade level on our graphic below!
⏰ Time: Breakfast will be served starting at 7:15 AM
💲 Cost: $2.50 per person

📚 BONUS! After breakfast, grandparents are invited to stop by our Scholastic Book Fair. It’s the perfect opportunity to shop with your grandchild and help build a love for reading!

We can’t wait to see our students and their wonderful grandparents for this special morning. 💛
